Wow that was so amazing! I made a story for it too. :)

It seems like Aerith must have been killed by Sin and then Squall, a crusader, couldn't take it anymore so he made some false allegations about Yuna, the only summoner left and thus everyone wanted to kill her. Zack, a crusader who was always in love with Yuna, tried to protect her and ended up being killed by Squall and so he was sent to the lifestream by Yuna. Squall went to sleep in Aerith's church for salvation and forgiveness.

I don't thin k they are actually that odd. If you think about it, Yuna was all for Tidus who has a similar personality to Zack, and Aerith enjoyed Clouds company even though he was a bit melancoly and emo like Squall often is, plus she was in love with Zack who is the protective warrior kind of person that Squall is.

It's just changing the body of each guy.
