@lovemyskidoo Well, I am working in North Dakota at least until spring of 2012. We've talked about coming to the bend and/or central OR area before with wheelers from there. So far we haven't made it but would love to! Thinking maybe the fall of 2012.
hey man thats cool. if you do i got a buddy who has his own mud pits. another thing thats cool is i got family livin in north dakota. cant remember which part. all i gotta say is it would be sweet to see your xj motivate.
I work for gm and the only truck that had 4 wheel steering was the early 2000 Denali pick up truck, no sierra had it and not all the Denali trucks had it, only a handful did, not the best set up lol
@dylanpeterson88 that is incorrect. the gmc denali truck first off was a sierra. the first 2 or 3 years of the denali sierra all came with the 4 wheel steering. it wasn't till later that it was an option to have the 4 wheel steering. also, at the time of the 4wheel steering you could order a sierra 2500, yukon xl 2500, chevy silverado 2500, or the suburban 2500
Cannot tell you how many times I've wanted that to get into a parking space with the pickups at work. I'd love to have the toggle switch on the door panel, like Bob Chandlers Bigfoot trucks had, just to get into a parkng space.
@JimPrower honda had 4ws steering on every single on of there preludes avalible...starting with the 3rd gen lol but only avalible outside of the U.S. And you didnt have to toggle between stwiches. You just turned the sterring wheel
@sexyboi142 I don't remember what car it was, but I worked at a honda dealer here in the us about 90, 91. They had a new honda with four wheel steering up on the rack in the shop. I remember it had a shaft that ran back to a second steering box in the rear. The rear wheels would turn the same direction as the front until you reached a certain point, then the rear wheels would reverse and turn the opposite way as the front.
Buggies and rock crawlers have been doing it for quite a while now. It is very nice, and works great and I intend to follow suit with my Cherokee in the future, but have more pressing upgrades I am currently working on. I have no knowledge of the legal restrictions applicable to this particuliar equipment.
Uh, no. I have a 2010 Taurus SHO with the ECOBoost engine, AWD, ESP, ETC. It is not a 4-wheel steering arrangement. His Jeep is on a custom chassis in which he has to steer the front and rear wheels independently. If you notice from the video, when he turned around the front and rear wheels did not steer simultaneously. To my knowledge, Honda Prelude 4WS, and the Mitusubishi Galant VR4 are the only ones in the US Jeep never made any production vehicles with such an offering. Pretty cool though.
GMC Sierra had a 4 wheel steering for a while in around 2000 something. They called it quadrasteer. It added so much cost to the vehicle, it was offered as an option for not very long.
what manner of sorcery is this?!

Every vehicle have that along with AWD...It's just natural that you can steer with your rear.
