it weaves in between 7/8 (1 & 2 & 3 & 4 1 & 2 & 3 & 4) ,9/8 when tre plays the drum fills (1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5), and 4/4. green day rarely plays anything apart from 4/4. i dont know if there are any songs in 6/8.
i know the 3rd part to jesus of suburbia is in 6/4.
i think both of them are rebellious teens ( i guess).... they're just doing it differently..... gloria is trying to bring the big change in a soft way...of course she's always fighting to change the world but in a subtle way whereas christian is always sooo angry...he's always furious at everybody...all he evre wants is to destroy...so in opinion both of them are rebels...altough i prefer christian's way! ;)
I find it interesting that they don't talk more about the socio-political meanings here... maybe it's unintentional, but there are parallels to America's addiction to oil "drenched in gasoline" and how the idea of American freedom is a false sort of religion... we can choose what we do but we have to do it a certain way and pass a test first... we also have "freedom of religion" but not from it. Protesters are called "un-American" ... just saying
