  • This should've been a hansoku for Uchimura, on question. Sure, you're supposed to be merciless, but you also have to show respect toward your opponent. no matter what.

Although I guess this just might be the difference between good, clean kendo and "katsu kendo" unfortunately.

  • わたしも2回目の反則は赤だと思ってみていました。世界中にこの映像が流れて、なおかつこの選手が優勝者として称えられていることが恥ずかしいです。

I also think that scene was a hansoku of Uchimura.

I shame that this scene has been seen all of the world and the champion did such thing.

  • from the dictionary Kendo of All Japan Kendo Federation: acts that lead to hansoku #5 Unfairly shoving or pushing the opponent out of the match court (under kinshi-koi-jiko on page 127)

it seemed as a hansoku to uchimura me in this case. anyway being merciless to your opponent, doesnt involve pushing him out of the court to gain points to me

  • actually in shiai you just cant have mercy btw if its just a push its definitly no hansoku.. u wont see that anywhere

  • not that arguably, you just can't have mercy for your opponent

  • pushing the opponent out of shiai-jo is not exactly what we call good swordsmanship...that should have been a hansoku, especially in this kind of a high level tournament

  • I meant, hansoku to uchimura.
