  • why v8? what heppened to v10?

  • great!!

  • I'm curious as to how this usage of "wasted kinetic energy" equates to the additional weight added to the car.

  • @KwithH They should just use spray for extra power when needed.

  • Formula 1....the ultimate hybrid car lol

  • The biggest fail of F.I.A was the making of the rule of narrower wings, that made the cars ugly as shit. 1998-2008 F1 cars ftw!

  • Im pretty much sold on this entire video. That was AWESOME.

  • BEAUTIFUL 3D ANIMATION!!

    HOT DAMN!!

  • KERS? VTEC just kicked in yo!

    jk

cant wait to watch the KERS in action tho

  • Beautiful 3D animation!

  • FIA hav spoilt things enough by forcing them to make ugly cars... why change anything else... they are going to ruin F1 if they change anymore...it was kool when raikkonen and alonso started their rivalry and now there is more rivalry so dont change anything

  • The major shift in the new rule is to make it aerodynamically possible for the cars to race close to a car in front also when cornering. And it works! So this is a very good rule change.

As for Alonso/Raikkonen, sorry to spoil it for you but two men have dominated F1 for like 15 years now. Ross Brawn (Benetton-Ferrari->now Brawn GP) and Adrian Newey (Williams-McLaren->now Red Bull) So it's gonna be Brawn GP and Red Bull now for awhile. Driver? Whatever...

  • Wow, how right you are on the whole Brawn-Red Bull prediction. I am very impressed

  • i think the K.E.R.S. it's not competitive technology in the F1 cars in this moment of history . but it's a very good idea including this technology in the f1 for his evolve.

  • Beautiful 3D animation!

That KERS system sounds pretty techno-bad ass. Although, considering how critical it is for F1 cars [in particular] to be as light as possible, I wonder if the mass of the system might "outweigh" the benefits.

All things being equal, the lighter car can enter a turn hotter and accelerate sooner than the heavier car. Any advances gained on the straight portion of a circuit can be whittled away rather quickly by a more nimble adversary.

  • Can't name any at the moment but word is Codemasters (known for GRID) bought the rights and are developing a F1 game.

  • alrite then sounds like they getting back on the on the rite path

  • cool heel vet

  • That looks terrible!

They have made F1 into a video game rather than an intense competition between car companies to build the fastest car. It's going to end up like NASCAR!

Protest the bullshit battery and other heavy, heavy unnecessaries!

  • car racing hasnt stopped changing so why should it now

  • Look at 00:00, hilarious!

  • This season willbe very emotional, what do we think about the several changes??.

  • awsome video!

  • "come back after 11 years....slicks!" lol sebastian vettel :D FTW!

  • Omg!!! Only 1 day until Melbourne :P. Can't wait...

  • Can I come too?

  • That was an excellent demonstration of the new car regulations for 2009.

  • Looks like the Mclaren is all show, & no go

  • Wait....

  • This reminds me of Sims.

    hehe lOOk at 00:00

  • wow.. they just get nicer and slimer each year!!

  • Wow. Sounds like F1 did a hell of a job this off season in improving their sport. This is going to be one hell of a season.

  • i LOVE that mercedes!! it is so sexy looking!! that suz about all of the new regulations!! who really cares about the economic times, if they have the money than leave them alone!!

  • Now we'll see who's the pilot, and which car has the best equipment and the best strategy to keep ahead all season. . .

  • very good, the vents and sticky-out bits looked good though

  • Excelente vídeo!

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. cant wait to see all the new cars on race day. should be alot more interesting this year.

  • The best 3D animation I ever seen! Awesome!

  • Nice video, but I think that the 2008 F1 looks much better, by the front bumper, side, even the rear wings.

  • detailed changes and awesome 3D!

  • The animation LOOK FKIN GREAT... It looks like some Street Racing Game HAHA!!

  • very nice presentation by Red Bull. THX

  • that boost thing is going to make passing alot more interesting

  • The boost button should look like the easy button. A jiant 3 inch red button incased in plexiglass that is for boost, and when you pass the opponent it says that was easy

  • wow so high tech i love it!

  • i like 2008

  • Finally slicks!

As well boost for 6.5 seconds a lap for extra power 82 HP. Wish I had that boost button in my car!

Since it's electric boost, or however it works, will it add more torque? Sure 82 HP is a lot for these light cars, but they have such low torque, and if lets say it gives them 80 torque more, they will fly!

  • batteries are good at providing strong torque figures

  • front looks awesome but the rear end looks horrible

  • The new regulations suck.
