its A SAUUUUUUUCE really its not a broth because milk isnt really simmered in anything(maybe pasteurization) its not a beverage because you do not really drink the milk for the purpose of drinking milk, ergo it is a sauce, because the milk is an additive to the cereal not vice versa
I would say sauce because sauce is something that your pour onto food anyways. A broth is typically a liquid on it's own and when other food is included is called soup or stew. And a beverage is something drunk, not eaten.
The best answer is broth, but in reality it wouldn't be any of the answer because it does not meet the qualifications for them. If anything the milk in cereal does not have a word, and should just be left alone to keep my head from exploding.
@soaddisturbedrules True, if the cereal is a hot cereal then it would be a broth, and if you somehow get the milk to be thick (ick) it would be a sauce. Though it only really returns to the state of a beverage when the cereal to milk ratio has significantly decreased...This is almost the science of cereal, neat.
@DarthPaul16 Logically, I think that our answers sound reasonable according to the average knowledge of the meanings of the answers. However, I just saw the Wikipedia pages for sauce, beverage and broth, and as far as I can tell, milk is a sauce when it is poured on cereal. Have a look for yourself.
@soaddisturbedrules Yes, I've seen that article when forming my rather vague opinion on the matter. My problem with just giving milk the distinction of being a sauce in the scenario is that all of the sauces I can think of are sauces before being added to a dish. Whereas milk is a beverage before being added to cereal. That and most sauces are combinations of ingredients whereas milk only gains whatever the cereal gives it, and that could turn anything into a sauce.
Broth.

I say broth, what about chocolatey cereals that make the milk chocolate? Isn't that acting like a sauce would, taking flavors from the ingredients?
Or even better, cinnamon toast crunch milk mmm

What, no Soup option?

It's a broth as a sauce is a combination of ingredients and its no longer a drink as its in a bowl

@DarthPaul16 actually, depending on how you eat your cereal, it could be any of those answers.
