  • It sounds almost like a rosewood one.Richard Hoover is right when he says their mahogany is something special!

  • @bufalobilll You are right on with that comment. Thanks for watching and feel free to email us at acoustics@soundpure(dot)com if you have any questions!

  • You don't sell martins?

  • @KenMacMillan We occasionally will have used Martins that come in on trades or consignment pieces, but we do not represent the brand as a dealer. We feel that while they may have been responsible for some of the best acoustic guitars in history, many of the large brands like Martin simply do not have the level of quality today that made them famous. Smaller boutique brands like Santa Cruz are making much higher quality instruments now, and we are proud to carry their guitars.

  • sounds much better than my hummingbird

  • @4runner39 The folks at Santa Cruz make guitars with a higher level of craftsmanship and care than most of the larger brands. This is true of all of the boutique brands we choose to sell. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos, we enjoy making them!

  • TAB????????? :D

  • @sephrioth81 Thanks for checking out the demo video. Sorry, we don't write out tab on demo videos, but if you have any questions about the guitar or recording gear in this video, we would be more than happy to talk details with you! I hope you found the video to be informative about the guitar featured. take care

  • Awesome rhythm playing! The pickin' was great too, but something about Ryan's rhythm is very unique. Good sounding guitar too.

  • BEAST!!!! one of my favorite guitars, and will hopefuly own one.

  • which camera did you use to record?

  • @leo19cba Canon HG20

  • I wish I would not have stumbled across this, I was dead set on getting an HD-28 but these Santa Cruz guitars are giving me major doubts, Sooo much low end it's unreal but still balanced... PS your playing is amazing .

  • @TheDarkLordBlaken Thanks so much. You're right the Santa Cruz's are amazing. Far better than any HD-28 we've seen. Priced competitively too. Let us know if we can help you make your decision. We've got a great inventory here...

  • This sounds awesome!

What recording setup are you using?

  • Thanks a lot. Pretty early on in our video series there should be a pop-up that says the recording pat (this way you can check out some others and see what you like the best). On this one we used a spaced pair of Neumann KM184's (THe SKM184 kit to be exact) feeding an A-Designs MP-2A Mic Preamp, and then a Lynx Aurora A/D Converter. We recorded everything completely dry so you could hear what was going on with the guitar and what the gear was doing- no special effects!

  • I should also say, we sell the guitars AND the recording gear, so we would gladly help you get the perfect recording rig together, and would be very willing to help you work with mic placement and acoustics to get things just right for you. Feel free to call us toll free 888-528-9703, or e-mail sales(at)soundpure(dot)com with any questions that you might have. We are very eager to help in anyway that we can to help make your recordings the best that they can be...

  • @soundpurestudios hi- just curious to ask.. do you think that even my guitar doesn't have a built-in pickups- if I set it up properly (like on your video)- it can produce better sound for recording? that sound quality doesn't really depend on having built-in pickups? (coz I'm buying a guitar [w/o pickup] bec. i do like its sound). thanks!

  • You can certainly produce better results with a microphone than you can with a guitar pickup if you make an investment. There are certain conveniences associated with guitar pickups (certainly on-stage for one), but the best, most detailed, and most accurate sounds in a recording setting is going to be from microphones. Give us a call toll free at 888-528-9703, and we can help you choose the best option for your budget on the entire recording rig. You can e-mail us: sales(at)soundpure(dot)com

  • tab for this ???

  • Thanks for the note... unfortunately, don't have any...

  • What song is he playing?

  • Thanks for the kind words- please do let us know when you are ready! We are a Santa Cruz reseller, and have many instruments in stock at all times. Please feel free to call us toll free at 888-528-9703, or e-mail sales@soundpure(dot)com to discuss any questions you have about any of the fine instruments or recording gear that we sell, represent, and use in our recordings. Thanks again, and hope to hear from you sometime soon.

  • Your a truly full example of what a good and exemplary corporation can be.
