I use a sony cybershot DSC-WX1 for recording. Great Cam, only negative is, you cant turn the auto Zoom off manualy. That sucks when you want to timelapse stuff.

But otherwise, a solid, good cam i can recommend!

Why do pilots not manually fly the plane on the descent and approach phase? COP?

Any Airlines that do things differently or have less stringent requirements disregarding the weather conditions and other scenarios that do not favour such actions taken by the pilot.

@MacartoChan hy MacartoChan, well, i suppose most airlines handle it the same, or more or less. Plus, theres more efficiency, and more accurate descend rates if flown by the autopilot. The workload is already high enough in this phase of flight, and so the flightcrew can concentrate on (for ex.) the approach briefing, check the ATIS, wind data etc.

Those big birds are 99% flown by the computer, managed by the crew :)

when the mixed fleet 320/330 was available, it was indeed possible. Now, the mixed fleet is over. So the 330 will take much longer now to get on. And as ive written above , it was a very optimistic guess. 3 years to become a 320 F/O ? Absolutely doable :)

Nice! Always wanted to see a cockpit view of an aircraft descending through the clouds. Never knew the cockpit view of an A340 was so quiet. What A340 is this? And nice job on the landing whoever was flying the plane. ILS approach? If not, that was damn nice flying! I bet it was ILS though... I think it's funny how people who love aviation like me love this video so much but people who don't care for aviation would think this video is a waste of six minutes. Those stupid people...

indeed, i prefere shorter vids aswell, but those six minutes are worth it :-)

Very glad you liked it, the landing was indeed cat2, but the autopilot got disengaged at around 300 feet. The sound is original, but i edited it and took out all the callouts, wiper sounds etc, i wanted the real flying sound only.

This was the a340-300 of swiss international, thx for your comment, and for watching!!!
