  • bon

  • His students are now the best professors in Germany. It's that ok?

I'm proud and happy that they tortured me :)

  • well, i guess those 5 years of taking french back thru 4-9th grade helped. :)

  • i once coincidentially bought a record of him - i didn´t know he is such a big shot in classical music

  • this is beautiful :'O

  • Das Studium bei Hermann Baumann ist sehr anspruchsvoll. Ich mag seine Art, Fordern und Fördern...

  • great!! brillante!

  • great brillant!!!!

  • That man. I have no words!!!

  • uggggggggh I wish I knew German, Hermann Baumann's amazing!

  • Professor baumann is a legend . when i listening this price of him i have to cry

  • His playing is absolutely amazing. French horn is the most beautiful sound in the world to me. And this makes me sad because it makes me think that I'll never sound that way.

  • I kind of like the french horn. Instead, I 'm ganna play the flute next year.

  • yeah! this guy knows what hes talking about!

  • is this a movie??

  • Man the French Horn is incredible. Nothing like it.

  • incredible. I'll never get tired of the french horn sound.

  • Good

Where can get some sheets for horn?

  • I played the adagio section of this solo for competition last year.....

Helped out my low range by all means!

  • AHH SO HARD!

i always miss pitches on the horn sometimes... and many times it sounds like a dying whale.. sigh.

and it takes so much air.

    im jealous.

  • ha is that him singing the gliere horn concerto at the beginning??

  • Everytime I watch this video, I get re-inspired... My favorite piece.

  • Absolutely beautiful!! I love his sound!

  • He makes his Horn Sing!

  • love the technique and volume

  • Who needs Neuenecker?

  • großvater :)^^.

  • met him but never got a lesson.. damn it.

  • there is a translation...

  • he says playing the Horn is like Yoga. You have to be concentrated, relaxed and the horn and you are one

  • i wish i could understand him

  • God I love Hermann Baumann

  • Because he can, and he does it well, you silly! :)

  • Hmmm ...from "stupid" vibrato to "my opinion"...there is a big difference. I am not going to turn this into one of those silly arguments that people have on youtube. Cheers!

PS. We overused the word silly! :)

  • Why must people bring up things to argue simply because they know it's a topic of controversy? Why must we argue about if vibrato on the horn is good or bad? Everyone has his/her own point of view.

  • he can and he does it great, it sounds great so i see no good reason why he shouldn't do vibrato

  • I love his vibrato also. Just the right frequency for vibrato.

  • Oops looked through the comments and found it. Nvm then =P

  • hey guys, can someone post a comment on the names for all the compositions in these hermann baumann videos? thank you

  • hope to see a video of you on youtube jameshornplayer.

  • jameshornplayer: you are 12 and you can play all Mozart Horn Concertos, the Villanelle of Dukas and the Richard Strauss 1 concert? that can´t be true. So good is nobody. i am 15 and its hard to play all this things and i´m not too bad. i be in a hornclass from a german horn professor and i´m not too bad. but with 12 this is false. that can´t be

  • what i practice 3 to 4 hours a day just because you cant play it doesnt mean a younger horn player cant play better than you

  • You might be able to play them, but I would doubt very well. It depends on when you started playing.

  • i started 5 years ago and im doing amus this year

  • well that explains it. If you would have started this year, like most 12 year olds, then you wouldn't have been able to play them.

  • exactly ill post my vids shortly

  • Well.....Just saw your vid and it is impressive for someone @your age. But: you are playing with the horn. To make music (~ to make some noise?) and "musizieren" is something different....And it sounds different. When you will have won your first competition for a big orchestra (let´s say the Chicago SO or the Berlin or Vienna Phil), leave message and I will be the first to congratulate you. But till then....Listen and learn from Mr. Baumann. ;-)

  • This a comment for our australian friend "jameshornplayer". Forgot to mention that. Sorry.

  • not true, I played all including Strauss 2 when 12 , tone was that of 12 but technique was there. We all improve with age.

  • Beautiful! He makes it sound so easy!

  • He says: Playing the French Horn is like Yoga. You have to be concentrated and relaxed. The Horn and your body have to become one thing. I am 50% autodidact because i realized what I came do with my body.

I hope you can understand it.

  • exactly right you are very good at translation

  • vicente zarzo mejor

  • such an amazing educator, we need more of him around.

  • Thank you so much, wagnerarg, for these 6 wonderful clips. Essential!

But please give Herman a second "n", better for finding him here.

    Greetings from Bonn to Argentina!

  • Its not random singing its Gliere horn concerto... great piece. I wish this was in English at the beginning, any idea what he's saying?

  • A bit movement in the tempi, not everything at the same speed, and a bit variation in the dynamique, not everything loud.

  • I've played horn for about 4 years now and after about a 30 min warm up I can sound almost as good but I still have plenty to learn before getting THAT good. What amazing control =D!

  • Ive been playing for seven and I dont even sound that good. Dont flatter yourself buddy.

  • Ive been playing for seven and I dont even sound that good. Don flatter yourself buddy. You still hava a llooonnnggg way to go.
