Guess who was injured and did play. Greg McElroy played with broken ribs. As for Colt McCoy, while he was in the game he had three chances to get the ball into the endzone and couldn't. The reason the 6-0 happened early was due to Bama basically handing Texas good field position on a fake punt and then a fowled up kickoff where Texas again got the ball in great field position. I say yes, the game would have had some difference had Colt played, but not to the point of a Texas victory.

The very next day, the doctors could not even find a bruise and McCoy said himself his arm was 100% fine.

Guess who was injured and did play. Greg McElroy played with broken ribs. As for Colt McCoy, while he was in the game he had three chances to get the ball into the endzone and couldn't. The reason the 6-0 happened early was due to Bama basically handing Texas good field position on a fake punt and then a fowled up kickoff where Texas again got the ball in great field position. I say yes, the game would have had some difference had Colt played, but not to the point of a Texas victory.

@jzoeller11 Greg McElroy is a (((((QB)))))) also! And it did affect his passing game - but he played. McCoy was seen on the sideline using his "hurt" arm patting players on the asses and helmets. Is it possible he was just a puss and was looking out for his NFL career in not getting REALLY injured? I too played football (injured) as well as coached for almost 20 years. He wasn't injured. The very next day, the doctors could not even find a bruise and McCoy said himself his arm was 100% fine.

Does ANYONE take into account that 1 of the reasons bama was able to rush the ball so well was BECAUSE McCoy got hurt.Some foootball 101. When an oppsing offense closes it's playbook for a qtr and a half and keeps going 3 and out & not giving the defense any time to rest, the D is gonna wear down. As much as I hate the Longhorns (and believe me, I REALLY hate them), the effort they put into making an almost comeback was nothing short of outstanding! I applaud Gilbert for stepping up to the plate in such a heated game. Despite the fact he lost, he should be damn proud of the way he played. Both teams played a fantastic game, but I am very happy with the outcome. 37 -21! Congratulations, Alabama!
