  • I got really goddamned pissed when the safe room got corrupted by the shadow. My only safe haven, now gone. >:(

  • 2 people are not safe

  • I cannot describe how much I love this piece. Perfect for that moment in the game :)

  • This song is amazingly placed in this game; you've barely escaped the wrath of the water monster, and this is like the greatest breath of fresh air.

But then you're forced to go into storage and life is horrible again. :(

  • Masterpiece

  • Wheres water monster music? ;_;

  • @Houdye You mean the 8th one ?

You hear that one when you're running from the "Invisible enemy"

  • @Houdye Unless you mean this one: /watch?v=-U-T7ExzhHM

  • After the water part I played 30 minutes in this damn Baby Fountain thing and enjoying the music ahahah xD

  • Honestly, after hearing this music after the water chase, the music felt like a spa treatment xD

  • Once i got to this room i didn't want to leave.

  • What does it mean when Daniel says "I did the right thing"?

  • @SplashLurky10

he paid tribute to the creature guarding an artifact not meant for human control.

daniel took it without knowing what it was, (he was innocent, forced to murder by Alexander but guardian still seeked him out.) Alex wished to return to paradise (he was guilty for manipulating daniel, torturing and murdering many, and using the orb with known intent) paranoia struck daniel along with his fear of dark, went along as plan and was played. giving Alex up pleased darkness

  • @SplashLurky10

and sparred daniel for upholding the guardian's task for no one to use it.

lets face it, alex was a megalomaniac who wanted to live long pain free obtaining a certain heaven state of existence at others expense

thing is, i saved agrippa because he suffered soo many centuries of alex's tortures i felt that he deserved to go to paradise

i felt sorry for him and i knew giving my life to him was worth it, and when i heard his voice, i knew he would do the same for me

  • @UtubeH8tr Daniel also said "You think I was afraid fleeing Brennenburg? Quite the qontrary. "what did he mean?

  • @SplashLurky10

that is what threw me for a loop...i think out of the new personality arose confidence (caused by the A drink) rather than his old one, it gave rise to the quote. the original daniel wouldn't have said that so boldly. but to be honest im not sure...

  • @UtubeH8tr Alright. What about Daniel's word, "I knew it was my purgatory, hellfire made me washed away my sins"? Can you explain it?

  • @SplashLurky10 I did an essay for school about how Amnesia represented the journey of a lost spirit. Brennenburg represented hell, the shadow represented Daniel's sins and Alexander was the devil.

  • @Matrilwood And Daniel said "and I never look back", what's that mean? Did he meant he won't look to the past?

  • @SplashLurky10 I think that's a sign of assertion. That his past is behind him and he's going to start a new life.

  • Read H.P. Lovecraft's The Beast in the Cave while listening to this.

  • @TehMoMoman amnesia is actually based on a story by lovecraft^^

  • This sanctuary room is what defines this game. You just escaped the splashy monster and come into this room with soothing music. You feel safe and the shining blue light calms you down. Oh and when you backtrack to this room it's corrupted, dark, and red with uneasing music. Way to play with my emotions game! I thought I was safe in this room!

  • Daniel has suffered enought. Take the shotgun -this song-

  • "It was my greatest triumph... and I never looked back..."

  • lyrics;

    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • After the archive tunnels, as well as on Daniel's ending, i believe.

  • thumbs up if nothing brought you here!

  • @gongal Well actually, something DID bring me here. I searched Amnesia ambient and found this. So, uh, everyone gets here somehow.

  • @gongal lol

  • @AdmiralMadox I wasn't serious. Just despise people who are begging to get "thumbs up" for talking shit, like "Day9 sent me here".

  • where can I download this?

  • I'm so relieved whenever I hear this. > 3<

  • Most people don't think about this theme when they play the game, they probably were bushed from running away from that Kaernk in the flooded area and still scared outta their wits. :3

  • @Ultrapyre Often you don't really notice the music throughout while you're playing; you just feel unease because you're registering the music on a subconscious level. For one, I know that when I listened to the OST I realized part of why I felt so on edge o__o

  • @Amphy720

Why wouldn´t you notice the music? It is a very important part of the game and the atmosphere. I notice every piece of music and every little sound.

  • @SlicedAndDiced I was meaning more when you're too busy freaking out over one sound. I certainly notice all the music but not everyone does (unfortunately :/)

  • Perfect song to fall asleep to, or just to calm you down.

  • This could be a great "save room" theme for Resident Evil I think

  • Seriously, it was so fucking reliving to hear that song after all i went through... this game is a fucking nightmare for your nerve...

  • I really hope they release a third story :) Such an amazing game.

  • I didn't wanna go out of the place where this song was being played lol, I knew the grunt was going to be outside.... waiting....

  • is it really this short :( damn......... this should be like 5 minutes long

  • i like this theme

  • I just love this music :D

  • hey man you have a link from the soundtrack you made?

  • is there a repeat button on youtube?

  • After leaving the canalisation and escaping the chase...

    ... I felt so relieved that I even wanted to hug the creepy statue in front of the stairs. =_=;

  • i nvr went fervther in the game wen io got to that part well i beat the game made a new account and i stay there forever

  • It is so relaxing, especially just because of the sheer contrast.

  • This is nice.... This is nice... This is nice... No more scary monster... This is nice... Ooh, is that... Legs? Damn it, THIS WAS NICE!

  • This was one of my favorite themes, it made me feel safe in that area, all the horrors behind me, like I had beaten the game kind of feeling.

  • why the hell are the top comments about a girlyboy and not about this song?

  • This one his beautifull !

  • This music tells you that the water monster hell is over. It has absolutely no hint that things are about to get worse (grunt).

  • This just spells sanctuary. I haven't played it but been watching a walkthrough, and man, am I always happy to hear it.

  • I had the same first thought as everyone else when Toby (I was watching his LP) made it to the Back Hall the first time.

    Sanctuary.

Very clever to offer such a false sense of security.

  • favorite ambience, but daniel's theme is my favorite song

  • 2 people are actually water monsters.

  • I finished JUST Amnesia before a few Minutes before this Post,

and i finished it with putting Agrippa's Head through the Portal : D

" It was my biggest Triumph!!! " ^^

  • @NeoTodesklingel I'm going to look back right now, may I? just in case I can send a water ghost to chase JB

  • Music

" It was my greatest triumph. "

  • My favorite. When you come back through the back hall and the fountain is all bloody with that dead guy in it, it kills the atmosphere just a bit, though.

  • This is fucking Amnesia, why are we talking about Justin Bieber.

  • @classicalgal1 I want see him in this castle :D

"The show of Justin"... it will be epic.

  • @classicalgal1 just giv Justin Bieber to a Kaernk..... and, yeah...

  • @classicalgal1 What do you mean by talking Justin Bieber?

  • Reminds me of good old Cyan worlds. :]

  • I know this has been commented a lot before, but as a lot of others, I can synchronize my feelings with everyone elses when it comes to this part of the game.

You have just spent an incredible amount of time on the first ''stage''. And you've been jumping at even the sight of rocks in the dark, and every little sound makes you turn. But when you enter this serene room... oh the amazing feeling of relief. I truly saw this as a sanctuary first time I entered it, and still do, because of the music.

  • The funny thing is, the music is played just before the Storage and the Guest Room. Ah ah. I knew I should never have played that game.

  • Definintely a masterpiece!

  • thumbs up if wumbogaming brought you here

  • @spaakbeen Nope. Mangaminx :D

  • @spaakbeen ...who the fuck is wumbogaming? im here to listen to the damn music, not cause some asshole told me to!

  • Ahhhh you have no idea how relaxing and serene this is after playing this game...

  • 2 dislikes water monsters

  • no joke, I stayed here 2 weeks exploring that one room because I was too scared to go on... I'm pretty sure im not the only one though.

  • After hearing this.. I felt I could go on again.

It revitalized my strength after it was drained in the water halls.

    -Opens another door-

    I'm scared again.

  • You feel so relaxed and at ease once you make it to this room. The music is peaceful, the windows allow a soft light, and the fountain seems almost healing because the water can no longer hurt you...

Boy, does all that go to hell in a hurry?

  • Oh, you all feel so safe hearing this, don't you? Just went through the most terrifying part of the game, and now you think that you're safe? Why don't you head into the guest room, take a look around.... it's nice and well-lit, hmm? Now go ahead and walk over to that closet....

  • after that water level i heard this song and i just layd back in my chair and sayd "peace *deep sigh* finaly" and then the storage place happend and i ran out of lantern oil.......

  • my favourite because I feel loved after getting chased and murdered and un-loved by the water monster :(

  • @treevsy I've played it on a laptop with headphones, and once watched it on a flatscreen which was broken so my friend and I could barely hear it. I was still terrified by storage either way D: Goddamn Frictional Games, those amazing bastards ;_;

  • @void735 And then BAM...storage.

  • @JohnnyCsGirlfriend i played this with a friend on a widscreen tv, volume high lights off 2:00am. just saying storage makes me scared never mind the prison.

  • This is a beautiful piece of art briliantly clad into another piece of scary art.

Why THE FUCK is justin bieber in this comment section?

  • Alexander: Agrippa? I need you to stay awake. Can you feel the syringe?

    Agrippa: ...No, I can't feel anything...Alexander?

    Alexander: ...Yes?

Agrippa: Soon... I won't even be able to move, will I?

    Alexander: ...Your life is safe...

Agrippa: ...I don't doubt that... but will it be worth living?

  • @TheAPC91

Alexander: No. Bad for you lol.

    Agrippa: D=

  • I like how this plays RIGHT before the storage room.

  • this was the most rewarding felling ive felt in gaming a long time.

weve finally escaped the monster in the basement. we ran, our heartbeats were like trums of a hunt. and now were safe... at least for the momment... so lets rest my friends. were safe..

  • @void735 Next up: Storage Room.

  • @gheith001 and then the machine room... witch i tought would be moar scary :S but then... the prision " shivers.."

  • Play this with RainyMood. I guarantee satisfying results.

  • @Samuri334x4 Wow that's good

  • @Samuri334x4 Dude, i love you for this comment

  • =)

  • This song... i like it, it makes me smile :3

  • Oh god...must resist...urge to fall asleep...and dream about...Amnesia...

  • this is actually beautiful, calming, and sad all together.

  • I think I left a whole string of shit in that water when that thing chased me, then I sat in that fountain for a solid 45 minutes to calm down. then.. the storage room. oh god. I walked in. I walked out. :D

  • This piece is just perfectly balanced between hope and despair. Beautiful.

    0:00 replay :D

  • OMG! Where did you find this? I want to download the full song! So beautiful! :D

  • @XxBloodDragonsxX Haha this is the full song! I just got Amnesia today and managed to get past the freaking horrible water monster and now I'm in the safe nice place with this calming music... I don't want to go any further! =(

  • @StrangerQuark Haha! Okay, Thx anyways! ^_^

  • To me, this theme was both scary and peaceful... Somewhere it was nice to finally rest for a bit. But on the other hand, something felt wrong. Peaceful music in a nightmare? hmm...

  • @FinalFantasyHQ Anything is better than a tunnel full of Kaernks that spawn 2 seconds behind you.

Of course there will be relieving music after such a scene.

But they also did it so that when you visit the Back Hall again, and the shadow was there, the music changes into " Ambience theme 2 " ( same uploader ), destroying everything you liked about this Back Hall.

  • is the obst part the ending almost ?

  • In my mind, when this game scares me, I still hear Amnesia calling me to experience this frightening, living nightmare.

  • I'm at the part in the game where this plays... Simply awesome to hear after that chase... (:

  • this is a happy theme and by the way this is my favorite music i love it its one of my best

  • After such exhausting and will-draining events, Entering this big lit-up room and listening to the sweet, calming, sanctuary-like music, I felt so at ease and peace.

Then I entered the Guest Room and remembered what game I was playing.

  • Kind of disappointing that after entering the guest room and coming back here, The sweet, harmonic sanctuary-esque music is gone ):

  • Huge mind orgasm.

  • This game really does make you feel like the character. After escaping the water monster into the Black Hall I was about to quit but then I found hope of continuing.

  • dont ENTER the Guest Room!

  • @kimonap Guest room isn't that bad if you know how to close doors behind you.

  • Christ, after that chase from water monster, suddenly this music. Its almost like heavens, and after that - storage room...

  • *After listening to this for like 5 minutes dicking around in Back Hall, enter the Storage*

"The darkness in here is strange, ulmost unnatural"

Oh god I want to back up in that hall so bad right now.

  • The contrast in this game is genius

  • I'm enjoying the shit out of my new ability to loop videos.

  • The worse part in the game is having to leave this room

  • It makes me want to lay down on cold, stone floor, listen to the fountain's peaceful murmur and just enjoy the delicious peace I felt after escaping from Kaernk and his watery hell. I truly understood how and why Daniel's sanity went from "..." to "Crystal clear" as soon as he entered that amazing place.

  • I love everything about this game. But I love the entire game more than the sum of its parts...

  • me and my boyfriend completed this game the other day, it was fucking awesome, the tension, the action, the mystery, and this theme is beautiful, especially when looking at the fountain :)

  • @GmodPlusWoW That statue is called Fountain of Youth in the game's files, so *SPOILER* I guess it has to do with Alexander's need of vitae or something to that effect.*

  • I literally backed away from my computer, stood up, and walked around my room recuperating from the water monster part while this music played.

  • Now if only that creepy centipede baby fountain wasn't in here, this place would be heavenly...and it did turn to HELL when it got all fleshy and it started to sport blood.

  • The courage and determination Daniel showed in the Archieve tunnels is beyond this world, fleeing from something he could not see, fleeing to somewhere he had never been. Atleast I felt like I really WAS Daniel in this game, not only controling him, but sharing his fear and feel of guilt but also his thirst for redemption.

If you have not yet experienced this piece of art I strongly suggest you do, this is a true masterpiece.

  • I feel like the retarded annotations ruin it. :(

  • For some reason when the good or happy music that plays whenever I complete a puzzle or escape a monster I get relaxed and feel good and safe, it shows how much of an effect the music has on the game.

  • @vichetmeng That just gave me an idea for an annotation! Thanks.

  • @mywifesafag

That sir whatyou did there is epic....

  • @mywifesafag Bieber jokes never were fun. Tired, old, forced and based on hating confirmity.

  • @Ragnarockalypse if by confirmity you mean horrible singing, then yes.

  • @mywifesafag By conformity i mean everyone jumping on the hate Bieber bandwagon. Face it, hating Bieber is just as much a trend, a fad, as the artist himself. You're doing it because everyone else is.

  • @Ragnarockalypse Nope. I really just don't like his music, it gets stuck in my head. I think he doesn't give credit to the musicians who are on stage with him, nobody cares about them. Everyone wants Bieber, it's as if Bieber Fever is contagious.

  • @mywifesafag that's what someone in the JB hating bandwagon would say. To me, his music is just like all the other pop music is like.

  • @mywifesafag YOUR ANNOTATION IS WRONG!!!!!! Saying Justin Bieber has balls is like saying Chuck Noris has a clitoris.

  • @mywifesafag Whats the file called?

  • @mywifesafag So uh, you're forgetting about the hundreds of other celebrities who barely say anything about the people with them on stage?

  • @mywifesafag The point is that we don't want to be reminded of his existence when trying to listen to this track, and unfortunately you have. I'm getting tired (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) of seeing these "Bieber" comments on damn near every video on youtube. The last thing I want is to make even the vaguest connection between Amnesia and Justin Bieber.

  • @PixelBabez Then don't read the comments about him

  • @Ragnarockalypse You sir , brought order to the galaxy again !

  • @Ragnarockalypse I love you.

  • @Ragnarockalypse beiberfangirl.

  • @TheShadowman60 What makes you think I like him? I don't care about Bieber. But I'm fed up with the simpleminded, ignorant, hatemongering conformism that makes up the hating of him. Unthinking sheep.

  • @Ragnarockalypse Okay, sorry, but what do you mean by sheep? Are you coming to sheer my wool so you can dye it for decoration in your block world? With no circles? I'm not human, but I'm not a sheep either.

  • @TheShadowman60 Sheep - a common metaphor for the unthinking, ignorant and stupid majority. Read Animal Farm by George Orwell and It'll put things in the original perspective for you. There, I've answered your question about my use of the word sheep. Now it's your turn to answer the other points I made in my previous comment. Go ahead.

  • @Ragnarockalypse I'm sorry, I'm playing Battlefield 3 atm, I'm not human, do you have what it takes to figure out what i am? (Hint: I have a deformed jaw)

  • @vichetmeng Lol you are sooo right XD

  • @vichetmeng Or the brain power to find out how to salve the puzzles

  • @vichetmeng

Oh, i'd LOVE to see/hear a recording of that... >8D

  • @vichetmeng I love how this game has absofuckinglutely nothing to do with justin bieber, but you just HAD to bring him into this. THIS is why he's so popular. people don't shut the fuck up about him.

  • @RobbieMcskillet lol, take a chill pill or something. :)

  • @vichetmeng Thats what this song is for :D

  • @RobbieMcskillet Yeah, right. :D

  • This game is perfect. Like many have said even the greatest of man becomes a wussy when he cant defent himself. And after the water level where you coulnt even see what wanted to kill you hearing this music fills you with hope and determination to go on. Perfect

  • @Mincho1994 That is, until "Fear and Paranoia" track comes up again

  • @Mincho1994 Yeah, this soundtrack could be heard in "Back Hall" which is a place after the water part. The storyline and the idea are just flawless in this game. And even the graphic as well. NICELY DONE, Frictional Game! :)

  • @vichetmeng I know i've played it. Wonderful game truly... i mustve spent like 10 minutes in that room listening to this while trying to calm myself down from the water monster chase xD

  • @vichetmeng I know i've played it. Wonderful game truly... i mustve spent like 10 minutes in that room listening to this while trying to calm myself down from the water monster chase xD

  • @Mincho1994 Yeah... :P I bet other developers won't be able to make it that good. Lol, the more I think of it, I more i impressed, by this game. :D

  • The whole scene of the back hall was a paradigm for Amnesia's great soundscape and it's effect on the person playing the game; while a mysteriously self-opening door usually indicated imminent threat and inducted panic amongst creeping sounds, in the back hall the absolutely same picture - a door being opened by invisible hands - cheered the me up in a way, as if a friendly, guiding being tries to lend me a hand and opens the door for me.
