adrenaline. paul mccartney talks about it in an interview. the adrenaline that goes through your body makes you rush the songs without you even noticing it.

I too was there. It was being taped for HBO. I remember that the Sam Cooke song "Chain Gang" was being played just before Billy came out and Billy went right into Allentown as it had a similar beat to Chain Gang.

Yeah, that was when he was touring the Soviet Union. They wouldn't turn the house lights down, he got pissed, and so he destroyed his keyboard.
