natürlich wissen wir, was wir singen! wir haben halt nur ein etwas "dramatischeres" gefühl für dieses lied als du... wo man in latinamerika so öfter den eigenen Fuß gegen riesengroße steine zu stoßen pflegt, sollte es zu erwarten sein, dass solch ein gebet mit einem verschiedenen pathos herauskommt...

beautiful rich romantic style period choral singing. All of the voices..are soloistic, but blend beautifully. Best choral singing I've heard in a long time. Alto's could be a little richer with the sopranos but nicely done.

hm well this song is supposed to be that of the romantic period it shouldnt have so much movement. It should be a moving stillness. I dunno that's just my interpretation. Nice sound though.

oh oh brasso30! taket it easy my friend...hehe...i respect your very powerfull opinion. i loved filipino´s choirs, their sound it´s amazing, but i still belive this is a good performance of this particulary mendelssohn´s piece, the sound, the colour of the voices, and the dinamics are really great. but this is just my opinion, based in almost 20 years of experience in choral singing. I enjoy this video, thanks for posting it

This is by far the best interpretation available in YouToube of this Mendelsohn's very insightful piece! I believe rigid stylistic considerations are out of place when one hears so deeply passionate musical performance.

Yo conocía esta pieza de haber cantado el Elías, supongo que hay una versión para coro a cappella que es esta y es la misma que canta coralina de cuba que por cierto aparece en youtube, al principio pensé que eran adaptaciones hechas por el coro. Puedo decir que hay fallos con el alemán, que le falta fluidez y ligeresa y que es una versión buena, gracias por el video!
