How would you describe the difference in taste between the YAM and the Sweet Potato's? I was told to try YAMS and or Sweet Potato's in Risotto. What would you recommend for the best texture, creamy when crushed and on the sweet side?
Hi Manjula. Great recipe! I just posted a video response of a healthy vegan creamy dill roasted potatoes dish I recently made that turned out fabulously. I thought it might be useful for your viewers who don't like too much spice, like me. Well, actually, I like it, but my body doesn't always agree.
This reminds me of a way of cooking sweet potatoes I picked up from street sellers in Delhi. The main difference is that the potatoes were cooked slowly over wood embers, giving a delicious smoky taste. To the pieces of potato were added lime juice, garam masala, chilli powder and black salt. Not as sophisticated as this recipe (which I must try!) but very tasty. I love the idea of adding ginger juice to lemon juice.
Yams are the orange ones, sweet potatoes are the white ones. You can get sweet potatoes from almost any grocery store, usually in the same area as yams.
Manjula you have opened my eyes to a greater variety of Indian food. I've tried a couple of your recipes and they are fantastic. I love your channel and what you are doing here!
I feel honored to be the first to see this video! One of my most favorite vegetables ever! I'm so pleased to see this latest wonderful recipe. Ginger, delicious! Never would have thought to combine those two flavors.
great strategy .. thanks for posting .. =)
