That scene wouldn't have made sense anyway because had it been real life, rock and roll would have still been invented because Marvin Berry (Chuck Berry's fictional cousin in the movie) called Chuck on the phone while Marty was playing Johnny B. Goode. Rock N Roll would have been around, just not accredited to McFly.
