I didn't like this, at all. I felt like I paid to watch a guy practice in his living room. Danny Barnes is always at his best sitting in with other bands, or if you are lucky enough to catch him in a picking circle. I have yet to like a live show of his.\
@Orson1961 Oh contraire!! Danny Barnes is always at his best with Mark Rubin. Pure magic, those two together. Otherwise, I kinda agree. I've seen a few of these loopdy-loop sessions, and I get bored.
hey phyllis this is you're old pal jeff trask! what up sister love? its 1;30 and i just finished 12 hours or more jamming with the conroys, fred and emily, campfield, bill anderson, jim dodd and bruce lee. roger, arlene, gary moore, forest jeff forbes charlene and marty and marty's girlfriend and kenny benson, ben essary, houston and damn it was fun in deer lodge. danny barnes is a weird fucker man. i played with him with jackstraw. way good but way out there. hope to see you again soon jtraske
His album, Pizza Box, is outstanding. It has all the songs he did at Targhee the way they're supposed to sound. I almost wish he'd get a sound guy to do the mixing for him and let him play, but it's kind of cool to see the "mad scientist" in him at work, too.
@gwoman6071 - Thanks for commenting. I was so appauled at how horrible his Targhee performance sounded that I never even went and listened to his recording. I agree with you, Pizza Box is great! He was not smart to get up on stage and do what he did at Targhee. I imagine I'm not the only person he turned off to his music all-together. Maybe he figured it didn't matter. Maybe it doesn't. ha ha. Thanks again for turning me on to Pizza Box. It's really great!
