  • I soooo agree about people not connecting with birth. When I tell people I love giving birth, and I love doing it without pain management, I get the STRANGEST looks. Sometimes I wonder if I really am insane, but mostly I feel bad that many women don't get to experience how amazing birth is.

  • @NaturalMommy100 I think it seems amazingly PAINFUL, but hey, I'm only 17 xD

  • Those pictures will be really awesome for the baby book! Thanks for sharing. This class sounds a lot different than the one I went to at the hospital last pregnancy. We didn't like it, but this one sounds more informative. They did make it feel more like going in for a procedure.

  • this was very helpful, I am terrified to birth a baby. I would love to hear about all the other classes you have.

  • aww! That art idea is clever! I think Colby's looks like a mini him in a onesie. hehe Cute! I think it's awesome to make a plan and still go with the flow. That's going to be my plan! Try not to get to bent on the "perfect" delivery and just remember however it happens, your little man will be in your arms! :)))

  • I love your view on the birth being an experience that is so special and life changing! These classes sound great! Loved both of yalls drawings too!

  • This class sounds great! I love that there is so much positivity being centered around the actual birth process. I am happy that this is something that you and Colby are doing as a couple. Childbirth should include the partner, I cannot imagine doing it alone. Best of luck!

  • I am doing a Birthing from Within class too!! :)

  • That class sounds really great! I'm glad you guys had a good experience your first week. I love that Colby drew Maddie to look like a lion. :) Hehe.

  • That is a great analogy about the pain being worse than you expected... it's completely true. You can't expect the amount of pain you'll be in until it's there.. even though I know it's something every woman could completely handle (if they wanted) I think it's harder to picture the first time around. Sounds like a great class!

  • I completely get what you are saying by making your birth experience an emotional/life changing experience. The first time around I never read any books (watched a couple dvds about labor/delivery/what to expect) and this time I read 3 or 4 books about natural childbirth and delivery even though I was unsure if that's what I even wanted.. and I couldn't have had a better experience. I think the books really helped in getting into the right mind frame and making it an amazing birth!

  • The class sounds great. I am looking forward to a natural delivery. I believe it is a natural process for our bodies to give birth and although we may not know what to expect, our bodies do. It's all about being educated and preparing on how to cope with the pain through different techniques while still being aware of medical intervention. We've done our birthing plan already & start our classes early March but I look forward to following along with you to give myself a head start :)

  • I think it's so great how much you and Colby are physically and mentally preparing for birth. Like you said some people just want to get the birth process over with. They go out and buy a bunch of stuff for their baby and they think their prepared but there's really do much more involved. Your very lucky to have a partner like Colby who is so into your pregnancy and is wanting to be as involved as he is.

  • I accidentally clicked the unsubscribe button, but immediately subscribed again. :)

  • I love your comment at the end about making the most of your birthing experience, not necessarily a natural birth. I found that really comforting to hear as I wanting both, but overall a positive birthing experience.

  • That class sounds really cool! How did you find this class? I'd be thrilled to check out something similar for my pregnancy. I love how Nolen in Colby's drawing is on a comfy cloud! How cute!! :)

  • @sheisshell88 My advice is at least read up or YouTube or whatever different coping techniques. I went into my labor blind and although I did it naturally, I wish I would of at least done some research to have better prepared myself for coping with the pain

  • I'm really glad to hear how great that class seems to be!! I didn't take a birthing class and really wish that I did for pain coping techniques. I feel like if I had taken a class the pain would have only been a 80 / 100 because I would have had different types pain coping techniques to try. You're going to do great!

  • My midwife had me read that book also. I agree that the first few chapters were strange, but the rest is very good.

  • I think im choosing not to take any classes and just jump in blindly because I dont have money to pay for these classes. Hopefully I'll still do great... 10 weeks left *silently freaking out*

    S

  • @sheishell88 I have a similar apporach to you. We need to pay $250 for a one day class!

  • @ttcabeba OMG!!! glad im not the only one, in my mind no matter how many classes i can take i'd still know nothing because i've never experienced it & i will still be petrafied and in pain and im a wimp when it comes to pain lol

  • you sound really well prepared to me already! what a great doula & class. :)

  • I like how they are splitting up week by week for different pain relief techniques. And,you never know what will work for you so it is good to have a ton of info :)

  • ur so sweet
