The tutorial on bicycletutor is much better. It talks about using the proper amount of glue, spreading it over an area larger than the patch, and waiting 5 minutes for the glue to set up. And yes, technically it's "vulcanizing fluid". The patch backing doesn't have to be removed, it seems to be a matter of personal preference.
These "expert village" videos really aren't all that "expert".
He had big bougers of extra compound. That's not right. He should have mentioned to put the stuff on in a circle larger than the patch. Let it dry, do not touch the patch, unwrap the patch, push hard for 1 minute, and then release. There's a plastic cover on the top of the patch. That has to be removed after its pressed on. Then inflate slightly and check for leaks. Geez. The big thing is, if you can afford a hot jersey like that, don't screw with patches, just buy a new tube.
@oowama very very very simple. on presta valves, there is a pin, and a screw that goes over it. once you have partially unscrewed the screw, just press down on the pin and the air comes out.
you sould use BIO Degreaser for your bike and chain lubricate both from schwinn chain care kit come with BIO DEGRREASER AND CHAIN LUBRICATE AND BRUSH TO FOR ONLY$ 24.99 IF YOUR IN CANADA YOU CAN BUY IT AT ANY CANADA TIRE . I GET THIS KIT IT WORK THE BEST .

Where do you keep your tub of soapy water on your bicycle ?

Mate, usually you would have a spare tube and when you have time, you fix the flat one.

you do know you can turn the plastic cap round and can puncture the sealed glue tube. no need to carry a nail around

I assume this guy smokes. He sounds really out of breath.
Not that that has anything to do with the video...but I did find it kind of distracting.
Also the wet, smacking noises. *shudders*

Thus tutorial could be a little more detailed but I'm sure most people can figure out what do with the kit.

Contrary to popular belief, fat is actually good for long distance athletics. It's great energy.
