The shack is still there. The fire of 2011 did not burn the shack but it did burn the campground. The Forest Service has already cleaned up the area and cut the remaining burned and down timber into firewood length chunks and stacked them beside the roads for people to use as firewood on the Idaho side. The Montana side has cleared the road but that is about it..

It is nice to see the HS shack is still there. The last time I was up to Horse Creek HS was around 20 years ago. I sure miss the soak.
