Douchashounds, Labs, golden retrievers, german shepards, and other "docile/good" breeds scored WELL below the Am pitt and staff. In fact, most of those breeds scored LOWEST.
Glad you brought up the temperament test. Show up with a rott or pitt and they'll immediately ask you if it is Schitzhund trained or defense trained. If it is, then the three categories for aggressive behaviour are basically given a perfect score. The defense trained dog can break loose from the handler and kill the "scarey stranger" during the test, and they still get perfect marks. Referring to the temperament test is just another pitt apologist water gun. Totally useless.
The dogs that were temperment tested were PETS, not trained in defense or fighting.
And by the way, a good, WELL TRAINED dog will not do any of the things you stated. I would feel MUCH better with a pitt, dobie, am-staff, or rottie by my side than a german shepard or ect.

If handle right and raised by the right owner these dogs a more loving and as protective of the owner and kids like a german sherped. I am from Venezuela.. a country in South America. I can tell you for a fact that they are not banned in any South American countries. Only developed countries have time in their hands to worry about banning dog breeds. Countries like mine worry about feeding the people first, and for now unfortunately are not concerned with anything that is not basic needs, like global warming or animal protection.

My opinion is based on evidence, both anecdotal and controlled studies. Its not clouded by a love for an animal that happens to be the topic of debate.
the only reason people are afraid of pitbulls is because they are so strong, and thats why the few times that pits do attack it usually ends tragically. as other people have said it all depends on the owner, i have been around pits since i was like 5, and not one has ever hurt me, as a matter of fact one was my own personal bodygaurd.
any dog is a responsibility, the dog is not the one that pulls the trigger, its the owner. A Pit is a very passive animal by nature, but have very strong bodies and jaws. Due to that, they're commonly used for guard dogs and fighting dogs. They're renowned for their determination which is exploited through training to make them fight dogs or aggressive dogs. Also, pit bull is a general term applying to a few breeds which make up a large amount of dogs....
and if you look at the amount of attacks based on samples, pit isnt the highest, there are dog aggression studies, and the pit routinely is tested to be low-aggression, toy breeds, hunting dogs, and german shephards are on the high end...

A dog's (ANY breed) behaiviour/temperament are the result of the owner's training or lack of. Dogs that attack at will are the result of poor training. If a dog fatally attacks it is 'destroyed'. How about sending the owners to jail??

Would you like to know which dog scored HIGHEST on the AKC temperment testing? This was over a board of over 100 dogs of each breed......
The highest ranking (indicating BEST temperment) was the AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRRIOR, with the American stafforshire comming in 3rd.
Douchashounds, Labs, golden retrievers, german shepards, and other "docile/good" breeds scored WELL below the Am pitt and staff. In fact, most of those breeds scored LOWEST.

Glad you brought up the temperament test. Show up with a rott or pitt and they'll immediately ask you if it is Schitzhund trained or defense trained. If it is, then the three categories for aggressive behaviour are basically given a perfect score. The defense trained dog can break loose from the handler and kill the "scarey stranger" during the test, and they still get perfect marks. Referring to the temperament test is just another pitt apologist water gun. Totally useless.

You always hear about all these people being bit by 'Pit Bull' which in truth isn't one breed but a grouping like hounds. Yet I've been around dozen of pits and the only breed I've ever been bit by was a labrador golden retriever mixed.

I was almost killed by a retriever and i own bully breed dogs and would have it no other way. Dogs that attack humans are put down so it is beneficial for a dog to be super loyal to his owner.

You should never underestimate the dog or it's power but they are truly loving and loyal pets. they are great around kids as you can see with mine...IF they are trained properly. i got attacked by a dog to and it was a pit bull and my friend at school had a little baby outside and a pitball was out to, they thout it was going to attacke then my friend ran after the dog to the baby and the tryed to shoo it away and then the dog attacke my friend's brother on the neck. and she try to kick it off but it wouldent come off then her mom can out and kicked off the dog with her.

Stop making stuff up. In 2008, there were 23 fatalities due to dog bite. Pitbulls accounted for 15 of those. Thats over 65%! I mean THATS FACT DUDE. ONE BREED accounts for over 65% of dog bite fatalities! And this statistic isnt even including MAULINGS (such as the case of the boy from Moore Oklahoma who got his arms ripped off from 2 of them). 15 Pitbull related deaths....15 human lives taken at the hands of a fucking DOG. Wake up, dogs that were used for underground fighting arent even allowed outa their cages, people who fight dogs dont keep them as pets! Dogs that have gotten out of the yards and killed and maimed are PETS that people have had from pups! Pits are just naturally aggressive and are BRED to attack! Momsgoalltheway, you don't know nothing about this type of dog. I grow up along side these dog s and trained a couple that were once abuse and were in fights because of their old owner. If handle right and raised by the right owner these dogs a more loving and as protective of the owner and kids like a german sherped. My dad and mother has showed me videos and pictures of me beating up these type of dogs when I was a baby and all they ever did to me was lick attack me.

I am from Venezuela.. a country in South America. I can tell you for a fact that they are not banned in any South American countries. Only developed countries have time in their hands to worry about banning dog breeds. Countries like mine worry about feeding the people first, and for now unfortunately are not concerned with anything that is not basic needs, like global warming or animal protection.

Well, they are banned in the city I live in, Ontario Canada, Denver Colorado, Aurora Il, and Gyuana. Those are just to name a few. I had a shepard as well, and they are great.
as far as german shepards, im pretty sure there is a good reason why police use shepards and NOT pits.

any dog is a responsibility, the dog is not the one that pulls the trigger, its the owner. A Pit is a very passive animal by nature, but have very strong bodies and jaws. Due to that, they're commonly used for guard dogs and fighting dogs. They're renowned for their determination which is exploited through training to make them fight dogs or aggressive dogs. Also, pit bull is a general term applying to a few breeds which make up a large amount of dogs....

yup the pitt i believe was ranked 10th in dog bites. its irresponsible owners that cause people like you and BSL to Ban these beautiful animals. On the news you only see Pitts who were owned by bad owners and breeders so everyone has this misconception that every Pitt Bull in existence are mean and viscous.
