use program "zanavi", it is better than the default "navit" for lots of reasons, among others the map size is smaller. Combine it with "gps test" or/and "gpsfix" and it works like charm

Map Droyd is fanstastic. It has helped me out in Rimini, Pisa, Rome, Bergamo, Barcelona and Paris.

I travel abroad maybe 15 times a year, and it is usefull for finding hotels, etc.

In bergamo it helped me find accomodation after my previous hotel was fully booked. In Pisa it helped me navigate confusing streets and saved me bus fare and my limited italian.

When I arrived in barcerlona my mapdroyd app was deleted, and had to find a wifi hotspot. And in paris I forgot to download the region map

If I turn on JUST GPS, like I use in London to get my current locale with the London Underground app, can it pick up my current location so I can find my destination?

@leopurogame so you have to edit the map and then it will appear in the application. Openstreetmap is going to be the best map ever made.

thats a pretty cool tool with all the different maps you can use but it does not support navigation :(

this app is named "NavDroyd", not mapdroyd. What's more, it is still not available on market. It looks great, but don't know how much it will cost.
