The most technologically advanced awd car better have a better 0-60 time and better 1/4 mile time. However it isn't gonna give you the driving experience like an lfa will, nor the 7min 14sec on the nurburgring on the actual street tires the car will come with. :)

The LFA isn't about 0-60 times, it's how the steering, brakes, high revving engine, exhaust note, transmission, looks, gauges all come together to make a perfect driving experience. The GTR is faster to 60, and is much cheaper, but most drivers will agree that the GTR is technically amazing, but boring to drive.

I think the GT-R lacks a lot of the attributes that true enthusiasts look for in a sports car. Granted I haven't gotten around to driving one yet but my general impression is that it's almost more video game than sports car. It seems robotic, perhaps idiot proof, lacking passion and a real car and driver connection. It's the perfect car for those who can't drive worth a shit and want to appear cool, hip, etc. I think a BWM M3 or Porsche Cayman S would be more fun / rewarding to drive.

The GT-R cost a lot less while at the same time is almost just as quick so the LFA is a total rip off right? Never mind what’s really important such as: Car and driver connection; fun to drive; ergonomics; real world driving capabilities; durability; ease of use; general ride quality; engine note, etc, etc. The list goes on. These are the types of attributes that really matter and thus make driving a sports car so fun and or worth the money not just what it happens to run 0-60 or the ¼ in.

LFA with launch control will rip a 0-60 mph in 3.2 - 3.3 seconds (production model) and 1/4 mile in 11.4 - 11.6 seconds.

Most importantly, LFA has been kicking a** in track lap times constantly running faster laps than established supercars.

Currently LFA ran 7:19 around Nurburgring (Wikipedia). That is 10 seconds faster than GTR. NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER.

The Skylines chassis name was changed to v35 in 2003, Just like when the rx8 was released it was no longer fd3s like the rx7 and was changed to se3p. After the skyline was changed, the nissan GTR was to take the chassis name "r35" in memory of the older skyline models.

The nissan GTR was designed with some distinct similarities to the older nissan skylines because it was going to take the name "GTR" a completely new car. If nissan were to have named it "Nissan Skyline GTR" they'd be contradicting themselves with a skyline model already out (still currently going) because they would be 2 different cars with the same name and different chassis set ups. The GTR has some looks of the skyline but that doesnt mean it is one.
