its a cool gun . small , compact . and most of all . light weight . the included laser sight is a value also. shooting wise does anyone know how this weapon sizes up to the rugar lcp ?
A .380 round is just a shortened 9mm round, hence less recoil and stopping power.
I just bought a bodyguard to replace a keltec p-11 I sold to replace a broken windshield when I was short on $. I wanted a smaller keltec so I was looking at a pf-9 vs the body guard and I made my decision based on the neatness of the laser, the size of the gun, and the fact that the magazine in the keltec kept hanging up when I would try taking it out and putting it in to test functionality. well I will see.
played with the revolver body guard. feels alittle cheap but it has the laser feature. dont know if that feature is worth my life..people were buying them left and right. i think it is an awesome feature but i dont like the positioning of the laser activator. doesnt serve an ergonaomic puirpose for my hand in a life or death situation.
i love the S&W 380 with the laser sight but the price on this gun is almost six hundred bucks. Nice try but I really don't know anybody who could afford six hundred bucks for a pocket gun. Congradulations for the new inovations though Smith&Wesson is still thinking ahead of it's time.
@WhipCityMan I paid 380 for my body guard 380. very, very reliable for being such a crappy pistol. the trigger pull is way too tough, that was the major drawback, also it would be way better with a double stack magazine with @ least ten rounds
Everyone and their mother is jumping head first into the 380 LCP, P3at market. I have the LCP, its great, smaller than this, im not a fan of SW other than their rocking Revolvers, I just got the sig p238. AWESOME. only 238 of that size i can speed fire with no significant recoil, from my lcp the recoil is night and day, just not WWB ammo, it hates it, u get what u pay for, good luck
for me only glock, sig, hk and some rugers. thats all
That's usually a marketing gimmick because it looks cool. In reality a red laser isn't going to show up like that unless there's fog/mist/something else floating around. Actually an advantage in a tactical situation, otherwise you'd have a straight line giving away your position.
@closetpunk2006 That argument does make sense on a computer. The firearm goes where you point it with your eyes, not your trigger finger. You have more control over a firearm's movement than you do over a mouse movement. The computer is the interface and it does not directly follow your movement like the sidearm. Any program on the computer can divert your cursor movement. The movement of the laser is analog rather than digital movement.
@GunWebsites Movement catches your eye when you are not expecting something. In this case, it is the aggressor's eye you want to catch. You want to DEFEND yourself and instilliing fear is both a tactical and strategic goal. Killing is an aggressive move and far less attractive when talking to a judge and jury. It is your house. You do not need to explain holes in the front of an uninvited visitor, but unless you want 96 witnesses at trial on the minutae, give them every out to leave.
The pulsing laser mode doubles the life span of the battery. If you're at the range or just screwing around, you can choose to run the pulsing laser to conserve the battery.
@closetpunk2006 to distract who ever it is ur trying to use it on, if u can get them distracted for one second thats the diff between life and death, they make flashing optical lights for the same purpose, dont let people miss inform you, def take there advise but always do the research urself afterward
no working camera currently/ i will tell it/at a friends house;others were there, chill atmosphere,leaving,2guys needed ride, was driving my 92camaro rs v8,white red stripes,t-top,mint,pulled over to let them out, backseat put tech9 to my neck,i reacted,he shot me,bullet went thru right shoulder out left side of my neck, upper body was paralyzed, tried to reach for 380 in waist, couldnt move, loud ringing in ear,he shot again and missed,i realized i was still in drive,i hit the gas,
..back seat had my neck in chokehold, passenger was elbowing me in stomach while trying to get control of my wheel, adrenaline gave me use of my arms again, was tring to fight off while car was zooming praying we hit somethin,we went over a hill, thru a fence and hit a house,i still had me seat belt on,guy behind me head hit my t-top,glass shattered, passenger got jolted also, they didnt know i was strapped,i hit my seat belt, tried to open door,to shoot them from outside of car, door was jammed
reached for 380 without missing a beat, clicked off safety, and let backseat guy have all 6,(later found out that his tech9 with 30 round clip had jammed thats why i didnt gt shot again),they were fighting me,then stepping on me,i realized they were climbing over me to jump out the sun roof, guy i got later collasped, looking for my phone,he had left his tech9 in my back seat, got out passenger side, secured my perimeter b4 hollering for help(1am)while waiting for help, his friends showed up looking
..for me..i was hiding in bushes with their gun(still didnt know it was jammed)i was contemplating coming out shooting when police FINALLY showed up,they were at a bystanders door banging thinking i was inside.then blended in crowd when police showed,i was bleeding on 2 sides i thought i was hit twice, police and ambulance was nonchalant, taking their time to pull off and gt me help..i've healed 100%..this happened 01/26/09..was on the news and all..verbatim what happened
No I wasnt commenting on the LCP, it was refering to the LCR.. small Plastic semi autos have been done to death, but the plastic framed LCR, now that was cutting edge shit.. Sorry im a mechanical designer and to just totally COPY their gun.. just wow thats all I can say..S&W must just be completely out of ideas...
kool guns. but me personelly i think there needs to be more small 9mms made like pf9 size ones. a .380 is good but i concider it as a backup gun primary carry i dont wish to go less then 9mm.
@GkMoney420 sorry re reading what i posted that comment was rather confusing. I was saying how .380 is a good round but i prefer the 9 and there should be more small guns such as this bodyguard but chamber in 9mm. Because as way of personal preference 9mm is the smallest i wish to go in a defensive handgun.
@dp665 I agree at least give us different variations in various calibers. I hate seeing a pistol that has a great design but chambered in a shitty round
@Deputy101268. Really 2 months later and that's all you can say? Yeah I believe that was covered already. But they are both good guns. Infact I own them both. I just like seeing something different. Not what I consider a total knockoff by a company the size of s&w. And I applaud kel tek for there new .22 mag pistol. Now that's how you compeat.

In contrast, the green viridian laser do show the laser line, I believe. It has something to do with the wavelength of green light vs. red.
