get your facts right Dalglish. A straight red in International euro games is a ONE match ban. Its has to be classed as 'assault' to get 'upto' 3 game ban and that was what the appeal was about. A petulant act rather than an attempt to injure, Spearing's reckless tackle was much more likely to injure than what Rooney did.
