Muslims are not an ethnic group (they're all different colours). But you're right that Arab and Jewish DNA both originate from the southern part of the Arabian peninsular, probably what is now called Yemen.

This hasn't got much to do with the modern day though.

one mistake though.. the prophet mohammad peace be upon him and his companions did not found the city of madinah.. it was called Yathrib before the prophet muhammad peace be upon him was forced to move to it from mecca, in which he solely brought peace to its fighting factions and created one of the worlds first constitutions..
