  • "Lets treat each other equally as human beings."

    equal rights,equal opportunity,equal responsibility.

These are Basic Human Rights we are talking about here. The Intervention has created chaos, increased poverty and racism . The United Nations has expressed concern over the suspension of the 1975 Racial Discrimination Act, writing to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in March 2009 following a complaint made to the UN by a collective of Aboriginal communities. These are Basic Human Rights we ask for !

  • I feel so touched and emotional watching this video. Thankyou for letting me have the opportunity to see this. xxx

  • I was revisiting this video and noticed that it is the ONLY video I've seen on YouTube where EVERY comment has got a +1 or more.

That says a lot about the commentators. It says a huge amount about those who made the video, that their message is important and that we will all benefit by listening carefully to what they have to say!

  • Keith, Thank you again for your kind words about my father during the commemoration of the death of my father in 1943. I wish I had seen your common ground video before our visit to Milingimbi.I would have enjoyed talking with you about your views on the intervention. I endorse what you are saying and what you stand for. Best wishes in your future leadership endeavours. Ron C

  • I am totally honored to have been able to view this beautiful vid,.....as my grandfathers said: Tlaltikpak Toquichtin Tiez, translated: Earth Mother shall be as her children are,....meanin' if we're bad, she'll be bad also, if we are good, then she'll be good with us all,....an inspiration to other native ppls.Thank you very much for sharin' and i hope you post more of these sacred ceremonies of the People.

  • Well said Keith and everyone who spoke in this video. You have my respect

  • respect

  • very important stuff.

    Solidarity!

  • I love the approach that Miligimbi people take.

Too often it is the fate of the over-run to make nearly all the compromises and be genuinely bi-cultural while groups that have over-run others - despite the fact they may regret the past and may have good intentions -think that they are making big compromises but in fact make comparatively few that significantly alter the main flow of their lives!

We need to keep hearing this. So do more!!

(Keith - I will catch up with you sometime!)

  • Great to hear your voice loud and clear. Can we please have more of these? What pieces of the intervention are so abhorrent? Keep up the voice.

  • powerful message

    thank you

  • Malarndirri asked me to distribute your email with the Youtube link to your documentary to all her Ministerial/Caucus colleagues and to the Federal Government representatives Damian Hale MP, Minister Warren Snowdon MP and Senator Trish Crossin.

We've also requested Senator Crossin's office ensure the NTER (Intervention) review team receives a copy.

It is a very powerful documentary that we are sure will have a strong impact.

    Regards

Office of Malarndirri McCarthy MLA for Arnhem
