AND YOU HOOK HV OUT TO ROD? I MADE ONE WITH GLASS TUBE BUT INSERTED FOIL INSIDE AND PLACED COIL HOOKED TO RETURN ON OUTSIDE AND HV OUT TO OTHER END OF TUBE THEN BROUGHT COIL END CLOSE TO IT AND GOT BRIGHT LOUD LONG ARCS.

Nice capacitor, I have used dual ignition coils with those and I have made the whole capacitor arc over (one electrode to the foil) and it was LOUDDDDD!!!
