  • Only adult Ryu can equip rods.

  • The intro song comes from the japanese commercial done around 1995 for the promotion of BOF2 for the SNES. I believe the commercial is still available on youtube.

  • 3:55 - Yeah, but it's easier to see that the eye belongs to the antagonist than it was in the SNES version. In the SNES translation, alot of people thought it belonged to Ryu's mother. The intro makes alot more sense in the new translation.

  • Here's the big question though...

Did they increase the gold+exp growth like the gba version did?

  • I don't think so, but I had the benefit of the Fast forward function of the emulator, so... moot point for me :D

  • yeah that true...because I remember HATING the grinding in that game, and normally grinding doesnt bother me. The GBA version fixed that...but my rom froze during the scenario at Sten's hometown.

  • The difficulty of some of the battles was fixed so it's more like the Japanese version now, as opposed to the nerfed SNES version we got.

  • The Capcom localization team kinda dropped the ball on the (English) translation of BoF2.

    This retranslation's pretty good!

  • most retranslations i find to be a waste of time, but this one definitely benefited from it

  • Hey Nick, this is Jon. Once again, I shall waste my life watching you waste your's. Wonder which is the bigger waste?

  • ...You can't equip the Wooden Rod as a weapon because it's a fishing rod.

  • If I did say such a thing it was a mistake, I know you can't do that.

  • Oh. Sorry.

  • Just a few clarifications.

This was actually a two-person job: d4s created the German-language version of this patch and I signed on to do the translation. While I ended up adding a fair bit of extra hacking work - bugfixes and the like - to the finished product, stuff like the dash was his work.

  • On the darker side, the missing character intros are his fault, not mine. I tried to restore them, but they're so hopelessly messed up I wouldn't know where to begin. I did, however, restore the ability to buy stacks of items, which d4s cut from the German patch.

As for the intro, the song is from the Japanese TV commercial; the pictures aren't from the GBA version, though, but rather official artwork.
