I agree with you solitair but this Budha being present in sharm simply as a source of attracting tourists and creating a different atmosphere for fun and enjoyment only, its not a worshipping place
As you said, there arent any Budhists in Egypt, which is why this statue is simply considered a statue, representing other cultures and not the Egyptian beliefs.
my respect to those artists but the meaning of this song is deeper than the pictures displayed in this video, the original clip performed by Dalida is much better and really makes u feel loving your motherland
coz this was shot among a film , where those people met in an international restaurant and club called "Buddha Bar" thus Buddha statues are always there
For people who are defending the existence of a Budha statue in Egypt/ video clip/club this has nothing to do with tollerance. First of all if there is a percentage of Budhist in Egypt I would understand but there isn't. Do you guys know that during communism China destroyed over 20 thousands mosques in China? Muslim chinese still have no freedom.Budha doesn't represent Egypt or Arab culture and we shouldn't be proud of it or proud of showing alcohol. This is not modernity but simply imitation

what's wrong that others have another religon than the one you have ??? :S i am christian and proud to be !! but i don't mind at all about a muslim or any other religion !! kol wa7ed bi2amen b 7aga w khalas !!!
This song is about home. It's not about man-woman falling in love.. why the hell are they singing and smiling at each other? This should be filmed on beach or something like that not inside a club! Just because they are beautiful people that does not mean they make a beautiful video. Enough copying. enough being fake. enough trying to look cool. This is sad
It seems that you didn't watch the movie. If i am right then watch it please, before giving any judgment. The song makes sense if you watch the movie.
This is not a video clip for a song, this is a part of a movie ;)
I don't know why of all Billions of people worldwide, and the religion diversity within, we are the most sensitive and not accepting for others believes and culture. Additionally, Buddha Statue is a peace of art, why can't we look at it from this point of view, instead of being shaky and alert?!
Buddhism has great respect to all humanity and it never tell be alert of Islamic mosques for example!
You may disagree with a religion, but never allow hatred to be part of this disagreement.
It does not have to be part of a country!! It's a personal faith. A respectable country is this one where a person finds warmth and welcoming atmosphere regardless the faith of that person. And supposedly it's not new for Egypt. This country has been, and still, a land that welcomed all religions and ideologies throughout its history.
Christianity was not a part but it was welcomed by Egypt, Judaism the same, as well as Islam...and so on.
With all due respect, this has nothing to do with tolerance to other faiths. we already have proven that we do have tolerance to other faiths by having christians, jews and muslims all living together. As well as having Ancient Egyptian Temples that represents ancient egyptian religious rituals.
I would not go that far to speak on behalf of all Egyptians. I myself know some Buddhists in Egypt "Egyptians" along with some colleagues in the international company I work for, happen to be Chinese ones. Additionally , I would rather enjoy the song instead of being alert to an artistic piece. Even if there is one person who happen to be Buddhist, then his right to be respected as he,according to human rights, is a minority.
I live in ALexandria too, she's a pretty lady on the map..and at night...she's a princess. And i hope all that have been driven away to get back home. Egypt ftw.

@solitair1 It means you're being a xenophobic.
There were no Buddhists in Afghanistan? I bet there were plenty but Muslims chased them away just like they did to the Zoroastrian Iranians.
If you lose your identity to a statue, then your culture must be very weak. Yes to multiculturalism and no to cultural isolation!

This is sad

this is part of the movie "khaleeg ne3ma", where ghada adel and ahmed fahmy are singing karaoke at little buddha....

You may disagree with a religion, but never allow hatred to be part of this disagreement.

jokynona 2 years ago 3

karahmya 2 years ago

Bos ha2olek/lak 7aga, no problem with religions to coexist together bas Buddhism is not part of Egypt aslan.

It shows historical tolerance! :-)

With all due respect, this has nothing to do with tolerance to other faiths. we already have proven that we do have tolerance to other faiths by having christians, jews and muslims all living together. As well as having Ancient Egyptian Temples that represents ancient egyptian religious rituals.
Buddah has nothing to do with Egyptians.

Thank you! :-)
