  • seriously, i cant believe i havent seen this. i dont think ive ever seen video of them playing this. and its amazing. if they play this on the upcoming tour, i will die happy.

  • one of the heaviest thrice songs ever. so good

  • My favourite hardcore song.

  • heaviest thrice song ever!!!!

  • they sound so awesome live. but i don't usually like the recorded versions of Thrice's harder songs as much. the vocals aren't as intense, and the guitar doesn't shred like it should.

  • 2:17 is just epic with dustin's silhouette

  • Check out HateFace-Vlad

  • dude. I was totally THERE for this. :')

  • 2:23 <3

  • Dustin is epic in this, dont know why they stopped playing this live, one of their best songs defiantly!

  • This song kicks so much ass!

  • As soon as the Vhessiu came out or whatever the fuck that album was called I stopped listening to them. They were so hardcore and put on the sickest show around back in the day.

  • @dnon75 That sucks dude, you're missing out.

  • @dnon75 Why? Are you too fucking hardcore to listen to something different?

  • @madpaintbalerx Pretty much bro.

  • @carrera500 To your comment about them being a whole new band: They actually said that they look at themselves as a new band. They're experimenting with new sounds and styles and, if they could, they would change their name. I'm paraphrasing there, but that is the gist of what they said during the interview for the House of Blues DVD.

  • teps can shred like no other

  • good shit....

  • Thrice is fuckin amazing. Anyone know how Teppei did that intro in the first ten seconds? messing with a delay pedal?

  • foot pedal that turn the volume on and off and hes sliding up and down the guitar haha

  • messing with the analog delay or something on his dl4. its pretty fun to do.

  • damn i remember this gig, totally blew me away, way better than coheed and cambria who headlined. thrice were nice enough to give me a ticket for the sold out show. AMAZING BAND

  • Agreed! Saw them in Glasgow on this tour, they blew C&C away. No one really cared after Thrice... That Vhiessu tour was just freakin awesome. Shame we've had to wait since!!

  • coheed and thrice... 2 of the top 5 bands around. i'd have to put thrice a little bit higher though. :D

  • PAPER TIGERS !!!

  • the lightin is so good, it fits in perfect with this song. ive been to many concerts and thrice is still my fave band to see live. hopefully they came to my area when they start touring in november for their new release, Beggars.

  • My favorite Thrice song.

"We paid for their crimes with our blood"

  • they are just so fucking good live.

from all the bands ive seen so far they defintitly gave the best performance.

  • the most epic performance. i would kill to have been there

  • 50000! Spine tingling 2:28

  • sick!

  • dropb that is crazy

  • It's not drop B, it is Drop C.

    But still; serious riffage.

  • I still get chills hearing this.

  • i love the line "light the world on fire just to watch it burn". i love this song!!!!

  • they done the exact opposite of selling out. they are making the music they want to make are less popular because of that.

  • Hey carrera500. They're experimenting music. muhlbilizer is right. They're making the music they want and you cannot do anything about it. You're just bitching and whining.

  • 2:20 gives me the chills. simply amazing.

  • This is on of the best guitar riffs ever seen. The do drop B and C like NO OTHER band!

Nearlly the whole of "Fire" is done i drop B, thats skill!

  • if that what you mean then DONT USE the term Sellout to define Thrice, a sellout band is a band that their first interest is the money, and Thrice puts the music & fans first, its good that they are not playing the same old stuff over and over, Alchemy Index is a good evolution.

  • sellouts? c'mon they dont even have a contract deal with one of the 'big' labels, they are on an indie label.

  • Or they are utilizing their musical talent..whichever way you want to look at it...

  • THRICE

  • Dustin's too good a lyricist to solely rely on cussing, you're right

  • awesome song :) the artist in the ambulance is maybe my favourite album from them.

  • Thrice isn't christain but Dustin is.

  • Thrice is not a Christian band... If they were Christian then they would admit to it and have it in their genre

  • are they Christians individually though?

  • I'm not sure of each of their religious views, but I do know that Dustin(lead singer) is Christian.

  • dustin, teppei and ed are Christian.

    riley, the drummer, is atheist.

    i think thats true :)

  • Thrice says they dont advertise their religion because they dont want to be looked at solely for that purpose. just about half if not more of their songs are based around elements of Christianity though. Many of them arent obvious because they are taken from works by C.S Lewis

  • i love the way dustin says 'crashing down' at about 2:26 in this.

  • yeah man. gave me fuckin goose bumps.

  • theres not one where he swears thank god

  • The only thing he says in Don't Tell and We Won't Ask is: If you're a smart kid

You'll stay the hell away from love.

  • wait, i don't get it.. does dustin swear in this video? why are people talking about him swearing?

  • I was there it was fucking awsome!!!

  • just because you're a christian doesn't mean you don't swear...

  • Listen to 2:29 to 2:45 - wow, those vocal inflections are so much better than the original. You amaze me, dk

  • haha, yeah they have biblical refferences, but this soo isn't christian metal... but I think I know we're you're coming from, you're thinkin of like Underoath, thats christian metal... but this band Thrice, they swear in some of their songs, so they're not really christian, they probably have christian perspectives though, so who knows aye

  • dude name one thrice song that swears... dustin is a christian. there not a christian band.

  • hmm unless I mishead a word he said, but I'll find you a song (if there is a song with swearing in it) and I'll comment ya, send me amessage so that I can find your account easier

  • he hasn't sworn in any song he's wrote with thrice unless it was really, really old.

  • just hell in don't tell and we won't ask

  • just hell in don't tell and we won't ask

  • Oh yah! "You're a smart kid, stay the hell away from love."

    Kudos.

  • hell isn't exactly a curse

  • their christian eh... not christian songs like gospel but their practicing christinas so they have respect and play songs that everyone can listen to no matter their age or sex and not be offended

  • except for ppl who dont like screaming....but we dont care about them now do we

  • Dustin didn't even swear when he covered Creep. I'm kind of interested if you find one though.

  • same haha, I never thought he swore, but I was so sure he said something that was out of the ordinary hehe, ah well

  • "poetic punk." Ditch the Christian ... Or even philo-punk would explain their myriad references to philosophers, such as Descartes, Nietzsche, and Thoreau.

    Peace y'all

  • the music trascends in time, 4-5 years an d now is good!...ALWAYS!,

and thrice is different than the others bands cause they composed all type of music, the other bands are just basic and the people that cant hear anything but screams is fucked up. thrice have all, screams and SO MUCH MORE to give to the world.

Learn and listen, and read the lyrics by the way, there are just a few bands that write so good as dustin does.

  • its incredible how you think that a song that lasts 4-5 years transends time. Mozart transends time. What is good is good regardless of how old or new it is. If something is "good" for a year but then sucks it was in fact never good at all.

  • why the fuck did you even search this if you are just gonna talk shit?

    thrice is an amazing band.

  • i wanted to see what it was

    chill out

i can hav an opinion cant i?

    geez :P

  • No, you can't. I we wanted it, I'd give it to you.

  • That is, "If we wanted it..."

  • tkdgrl4 is an Idiot.

  • omg get over it, they cant keep putting out the same album over and over again. it's fine if you dont like it, but it's not bullshit. I'll agree that fire and water arent the greatest musical albums, but if you open your mind to vheissu, you might find that it is more of an amazing musical experience than artist or illusion.

  • The Achemy Index is pretty fucking awesome. Try approuching with a more open mind maybe, belv?

  • i guess you are right if you really like it. water is pretty amazing, i guess i'm just not interested in fire that much.

  • Bands like Thrice don't die out because their sound keeps evolving over time and their not afraid to experiment. They play the music they want to and they don't care what anyone else thinks. Thrice is their own genre and their definatley not emo. I'm gay for this band and I can't wait to see them Nov. 10.

  • triviumlambofgod....while i love trivium a shit load i love thrice too, and they are completely different from bands your thinking of. they have changed a ton like thricexalliance said but you have your opinions and thats cool but thrice rules and so does trivium!

  • Dustin- GODLY and amazingly RIDICULOUS vocals!

    Teppei- the fingers from heaven!

    Ed- the smooth deep sound!

    Riley- destroyer of drummers!

    THE perfect balance...THRICE.

    Nuff said.

  • @edelapena04 i have disagree on the drumming and gutair, it would be jimmy the rev sullivin, and synester gates

  • @deathbya7x fuck you.

  • @deathbya7x two totally different style bands. Gates and The Rev are more refined and technical while Thrice has more feel and dynamic. Teppi couldn't play in A7X and Gates couldn't play in Thrice. Both are talented, and both come from the same scene.

  • anyone have a better quality version of this?

  • theyve grown so much during the past years...from identity crisis to vheissu and alchemy index. seriously you cant fit them into 1 genre so "this kind of music" you speak of is peoples ignorance. you have your opinion but im speaking what i know and i know a lot of people agree with me on this topic. also im not hating on you so dont get all booty hurt like a lot of these people would.

  • fuuuckin vocals are the shitt

  • Thrice is this generation's pink floyd, led zeppelin, eagles. Their music will stand the test of time and years from now our children will be listening to their albums thinking they're the greatest thing ever as well.

  • "this kind of music"...you cant fit thrice into a certain genre because their they dont worry about keeping their music into a certain "mold" of what people think it should be. if you think thrice is emo then you need to go listen to some hawthorne heights. Dustin speaks of religious views and things that matter to him in life...how is that emo? They write what they feel, like most musicians.

  • And you like lamb of god? Good taste.

  • Face it, Death Metal is all but over.

    Great performance.

  • :l Death Metal. :l

  • H3adSho7, this is not death metal, this is actually christian metal. sort of. this iong is mainly about racism pretty much.

  • err, no shit. Notice the emoticons? Also, please don't call them a christian metal. Sure, they do have a quite a few songs that contain byblical referencese and themes, but it doesn't make them a fucking christian metal band.

  • It's not christian metal either. In fact, Thrice doesn't easily fit into any genre. They play sometimes heavy, sometimes soft/melodic/down to earth music with introspective and well thought out lyrics that happen to have christian influence at times. Take it for was it is, don't assign labels.

  • whats death metal got to do with this lol

  • did anyone notice that eddy is playing a walking blues bass line in like half of this song. sweetness.

  • Amazing performance, definitely eclipsed Coheed and Cambria's performance completely in terms of musicianship and technical proficiency. Was a shame they didn't close the night. I met them there as well, couldn't have met more humble and inspiring individuals. Thrice is the love of my life in music

  • Best singer ever- epic

  • you need to get out more then...

  • Ha Ed is the coolest guy ever man, he's so calm but goes apeshit on stage I love it. Top 5 favourite bands, so sick.

  • dustins voice is so amazing

  • The altered ending was epic.

Standing on the monitor and shouting, with one hand in the air.

  • wow

  • this was not a pro shot video

if you want bass go see them play in real life, jesus

  • FSF9180 summed it up. Major letdown. :(

  • that sound in the beginning is fuckin sick

  • I like the change they did in 2:16. dustins voice is freakin amazing

  • I agree, sorry for making youtube send you an email.

  • i know the bass in the chorus is fucking awesome

  • i cant even hear the bass during the chorus...lame.

  • my favorite thrice song

  • Oh, that dirty sound... I love it! Awesome! One of my favorite songs at all.
