Being from Pakistan, as a little kid I couldn't speak any English. My brother came from America in 96 and brought me and my family and my family back a gift. We all watched in amazement as we saw the most astonishing and beautiful show. That was the Riverdance 1995 VHS show. That was my first experience with the West, and i have never looked back since then. Thank you Riverdance for changing my life and showing how art can transcend any notion of nationalism and clash of civilizations.

As I understand it, Michael Flatley is in no way gay, as if it would matter. His first wife divorced him and the Riverdance troupe kicked him out after his ego became too large for home or stage. He went on to form Lord of the Dance with himself, of course, as the center of virtually every number. If you watch some of the post-Flately Riverdance clips (I think Flately's replacement is Colin Dunne) you'll see how easily Dunne shares the stage and blends in with the troupe.
