Trying to launch a sidewinder or sparrow in WoV makes you realise why guns are so crucial to have. :D
Missiles are the funniest part. Sometimes I scream at the PC :"why won't you track dammit!" :D.
Had all kinds of malfunctions with missiles. The funniest is when you launch a Sparrow and the bastard just falls to the ground, no ignition :D.
The game is VERY realistic, you even have aircraft rolling on their own at low speed if they did that IRL (loss of stability). They only left out spins.
You mean like your CH .... Smart ass mother fucker ! dont knock people for doing what they like to do Conservativepacheat , do like it when people come to your CH and make rude comments ? I think not ............"JERK".
This game is less arcade than you think and better than Lock On.
Third Wire series are accurate, missiles malfunctions problems regarding identification etc. If you play it at full real and all difficulties on high it's challenging and realistic as never before.
my old man flew jets like the T33, Fouga magistere, F86 sabre, Fiat G91, T38, A7 Corsair and F16. He says by far the one he misses the most is the A7.. Its like it had a soul. Its a 707 vs an Airbus. Airbus is remarkable in terms of engineering and state of the art avionics and safety but it lost the feel to the ones who fly it..apparently thats what the old man reckons: It was the last jet he flew and actually felt he was in control and not the other way around..Lucky u people still flying it..
oh and the game prolly seems pretty arcade to you because you dont have realism settings up hiogh enough judging by your landings and takeoffs......hope this helps :)

Also, fighters have the REAL statistics.

Yup, just set FlightModel, Visuals, Targeting, Weapons, Radar, Blackout, Ammo and Fuel on Hard and it becomes very realistic (although not hardcore).
A pain in the ass to dogfight those nasty Mig-17 on the F-8E or the F-100D. Not much of a problem with the F-4 because of engine power.

No the simulator has no realism.
atom2009 4 years ago
No, that's why you put the settings on hard, retard. Actual Vietnam veterans have said that on hard settings, the F-4J is very realistic.
