It depends what you buy. Chrysler and certain Ford and GM models give American cars a bad name, beyond that it's buzz and people hear and lead themselves into believing and then go buy a Toyota, have the accelerator pedal get stuck, brakes fail and then the engine seize up at 60k*. Go figure!

* This is not always what happens when you buy a (newer) Toyota.

No American car manufactures have too many plush retirees benefits they have to pay out to all their retirees. About $6,000 per car sold with GM goes to fund retiree benefits. The UAW made those workers at those jobs overpaid with unsustainable benefit packages.

My dad used to have a '92 Grand Prix, it was a pretty good car, then at around 135k, the head gasket blew and it wasn't worth it to fix it. Nice video though, and that engine doesn't sound too healthy.

Yeah, that's true, but I don't think he would have been able to do it. Plus a lot of other things were going on it or had already broken. It wasn't put to waste though, we sold it to a mechanic. I think he fixed the head gasket and sold it. For all I know, it could still be on the road today.
