  • This is the jam. Terrific song--Boz rocks, always. BTW, very nice editing job on the video.

  • I haven't listened to you in about 30 years and am sorry to say it is my mistake, you are as wonderful as always. You are one of a kind. Came across this video while watching my son's band. They are good. You provided me with many memories of my younger day, and how sexy your sound is still. Saw you years ago in a club in SF.

    You still GOT IT!

  • Awe Boz Scaggs! :-) Ok Now! What a totally awesome sound this guy had. His music had its own style and man alive, I fell in love with his music the moment I heard it. This music takes me back to those long summer nights sitting by the bon fire with friends and family and Boz playing on the 8 track and everyone laughing and having a good time. What happened to those days? It was so different then. Maybe it is just young memories but that time was a special to time to be alive! It ended too soon!

  • Boz hit #14 on Billboard Hot 100, 2/7/81. Thanks for posting it! :)

  • I wore my cassette out on this song back in the day. Love Him!

  • @HerMajesty5 I wore out the grooves on my 45 because it was (and stil is) a HIT !!!!!

  • @crwinters13 LOL That's pretty funny! It is indeed an awesome song! : )

  • this song is my z28camaroe after my late husband i dated this guy and wow fireworks he became my 2nd hubby 5 beautiful children joy joy joy 4ever

but i have to admit he turned out to be an abuser im not proud of that sorry k

  • this song is my z28camaroe after my late husband i dated this guy and wow fireworks he became my 2nd hubby 5 beautiful children joy joy joy 4ever

  • Great song, great video, thanks for the post! Always love to see pictures of Boz he is sooooo gorgeous ! Way back in 1980 I was 39 years old , married with 3 children, and I loved me some Boz Scaggs and I still do! This man is an icon, who deserves far more recognition than he has gotten! Boz I hope you check out YouTube, because you need to see how revered you are! God bless you!

  • I totally agree with drmagic......... SOMEONE COME UP WITH AN IDEA TO MAKE A TIME MACHINE PLEASE!!!

  • Boz...Please come back to Casino Rama or Massey Hall for another concert...

  • i wish someone could invent a time machine. i would take us all back to 1980!

  • @drmagic The 80's were a great time, weren't they? I'd be the first one in that time machine with you!!!

  • @drmagic you and me both!! ;) one of the best years of my life!

  • @drmagic The time machine is the internet and we have the privilege of being able to go back in time on it to find these wonderful old school treasures. Continue to enjoy Boz and all the other great old school artist. Nothing like the crap they call music today. I'm glad I grew up with all the old school music, wouldn't have it any other way. Love the trip down memory lane. Continue listening.

  • Damn... I feel 25 again!

  • @mustang73ism i feel 16 again! ;)

  • Damn.....He's that good and that's all I can say......

  • such a tight song... and still very sexy.. underrated song but that's makes it even cooler.

  • This song reminds me of a girl I met on the beach back in 1982. We are friends today but that very moment we met was so special. Our eyes locked and I knew there was something special about her. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life.

  • This song is excellent. The video is outstanding !! Very well put together. This brings back alot of memories.

  • I have always thought this was his best song ever.

  • Omg these songs bring back so many memories, and brings me back to yesterday!!!! Thanks for posting. Love the oldies, but goldies!

  • William Royce hit #14 in Billboard, 2-7-81. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • I love Boz Scaggs! He has got soul! Color has never matter when it comes to soul. Soul is something that you are feeling and you sing about, and people connect to you because they are feeling you as you sing. Soul is just that...what you are feeling in your soul and wish to relate to another soul. PEACE!

  • @TheTense54 Yes indeed! I feel that way too. Peace out! :)

  • Awesome song and video!

  • I have always LOVED this song. Boz! We need you back!

  • @jjarndyce

He friended me on Myspace. How cool is that?

  • this song reminds me of the summer , home from school

  • @grifftrain 1980. Summer btwn soph and junior years for me. I'd buy anything with Jeff Porcaro on it back then. I already loved Boz, and his work with Jeff . . anyway . . the memories this song evokes are truly beautiful.

  • @niamhorourke i agree!! ;) this came out my sophomore year. always loved it!

  • great music is just that, it doesnt apply to any age or generation. lousy music will always be bad.

  • 探した~!!

    あてずっぽーで入れたスペルがヒットするとは。

    とにかく、渋い曲、good!!

  • I always loved this song, but it reminds me of the women I knew 3 decades ago.God do I feel old.

  • Still an inspired and beautiful song after all these years!! Thanks for the post:)

  • Awesome groove. Great song that triggers great memories of my youth. Love the B3 throughout!.

  • @Craig7280

    jeff porcaro+dave hungate....

  • Kudos to the creator of the photo montage for this clip. Excellent. I let my (drunk) mind just go with your flow , and wow, what a nice fill-in my mind did to join the pics together!

  • Rap is crap this is the real deal Boz Scagg Rocks!

  • This has to be my all time fav from Bozz Scaggs. Great love song

  • I just paid tribute to a very special man that passed away at 54 yoa, this song was special to us for MANY reasons, and I can remember every one, in detail! Thank you for the wonderful contribution to our memories...... I can still see him standing on the pier, handsome in his police uniform, looking at me below on the beach, all the while I had been watching for him...and he was always there.

  • Interesting how Boz wasn't afraid to keep the Disco sound going after it supposedly died. I draw a line directly between this song back to Alicia Bridges I Love The Nightlife - drums, bass, hammond organ...

  • @leftatalbuquerque I wouldn't really call this song "disco," though perhaps it was an 80s-style progression of it. Disco usually had a steady 1-2-3-4 bass drum beat with a lot of strings/brass and muted guitar.

  • cool

  • I "ve loved this song from the first time I heard it! Saw Boz in Atlantic City this past summer, and it was awesome!!

  • This is one sexy ass song!! So amazing and so gorgeous!! Always loved this song!! This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days so much. What a time that was.Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself! Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ♥☺

  • great melody and great arrangement with fabulous lyrics. we are so lucky to have the Bos here with us to play is music is great

  • I so love this song. I'm bookmarking it and plan to listen often!

  • I just "discovered" Boz Scaggs, and I have to say he is damn talented!

  • Boz and Lisa have magicians voices. Mainly Lisa. The 1977 self-titled album from her are a westcoast gold classic.

  • Billboard's #99 song of '81. As mentioned, Boz was backed up by Canadian singer, Lisa Dal Bello. Boz hit #13 AC, #14 pop in Billboard. Because of Lisa's presence, did her chart in Canada? God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg Thank you for the name behind that sultry voice. I will certainly look up her work. I've always loved this song and felt it was his most underrated song. Never seemed to get the airplay some of his other hits did.

  • I sense this song is about a Leo woman. Leo women can be domineering, but warm and generous like the sun. We are fixed fire signs ruled by the heart, so there you go...

  • @TheZunigal Any woman is domineering . . . that's why I stay away from them, period.

  • @TheZunigal LOL! No wonder I love this song

  • There is one real idiot floating around out there. How could anyone possibly thumbs down this song? *sigh*

  • Great Song by Boz! I believe this was his last chart single for quite a while (#14 in February 1981). Lisa Dal Bello's vocals are great as well, including excellent drumming by Jeff Porcaro!

  • However, Monet Owens does a damn fine job with Boz on this one!!!! She is terrific and has quite the chemistry with Boz....see them live!

  • Really love Lisa Dal Bello joining in at the end - and a serious babe to boot as well!

  • Hey, Miss Sun what could I say, I tried to hold you, but the moon got in the way, It won´t be long before the morning has you back in my arms... ♥♥♥

  • I love, love this song and musical arrangement. His vocals, the harmonies and the growls of female vocalist near the end of the song just make it for me. What are they talking about at 3:23?

  • @manipool LOL! YOU KNOW!!!!

  • original is from TOTO

  • Wow! How powerful! Great music and pictures!

  • Wow! How powerful!

  • Definitely from "Hits" in 1980. Too synthesized and New Wave influenced to be from Silk Degrees anyway.

  • So apparently Boz went New Wave as well. I associate him more with the 70's, "Lowdown," "Lido Shuffle" soul period, but this is interesting nonetheless.

  • SEXY BEAST MOOD MUSIC! :)

  • So cool to see you mention Muscle Shoals--that's my home and where I live. It seems like most people have forgotten (or are too young to remember) that this used to be "The Hit Recording Capital of the World!" Thanks for this video--love it. : )

  • @kittiecattales

Did boz not record with steve miller at muscle shoals studio many moons ago.As the guy says well after silk degrees but an ideal summer listening sound

  • @mjraffe

    Studio album by Boz Scaggs

    Released 1969

Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio

    (In Sheffield, not Muscle Shoals)

"Boz Scaggs is the second album by Boz Scaggs. After two years with the Steve Miller Band, Scaggs once again set out on his own, recording at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama."

    mjraffe,

I had forgotten about Boz being Steve Miller's lead singer. Not sure if they recorded together in Muscle Shoals. Didn't see anything to that effect.

  • this song was a couple of steps ahead of its time! yet, it's one of those tunes you end up hearing on a motel clock radio on an unrecognizable radio station in a forgettable town!

  • this song origionally from toto but sold to these guys

  • NOT on the Silk Degrees album

  • I can still remember what you told me with your eyes. One kiss...and now it's down to this!

    Boz NAILED that song!

  • Awesome !!

  • Great video, very creative

  • Perfect song for the woman of my dreams. It should named "Miss Sunshine". Plenty of that in this video.

  • tripyy

  • I always loved this song and everything Boz does. Any idea who the female is on the background vocals? She tears it up!

  • @willjoke4food her name is lisa dalbello

  • Very sexy song! Should have call this "Miss Sunshine"! Perfect song for a soulmate!

  • Nice job...more photo's of the adorable one please!Seen the man over 30 times...am I crazy? No, just appreciate one fine musician!Love when he does this duet with his girls.

  • Smooth job there with pictures for this song...

  • I hope you like it Debby.

    Jeff (BH)

  • '' How often do you get double-genius from

the same song? Boz & Toto did this shit

    CORRECT..............!!!"

  • good old Boz.. simply magnificent.

  • Everyday star a new.

  • Yes I do...AWB albums have been re-issued by UK company as a 3-on-2cd set

"Feel No Fret & Volume VIII & Shine & Cupid's In Fashion"

  • Does anyone here know of another great version of this song by Average White Band. They really funked it on this tune. Steve Ferrone's groove was so.......well I make love to my gf alot with AWB's version..

  • brother did u get the girl. I guess u didnt.

  • And your clip is insane......so good. Brilliant.

  • Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life..this song is one that does that for me. Perfect.

  • this song just hits the groove right................perfectly

  • I agree newromantic888.. beautiful song :)

  • this hammy clip is amazing. I am decent photographer............sorry love the clip.

  • No one grooves likes Jeff!!!!!

  • I loves me some BOZ SCAGGS! This is my favorite.

  • I think after Boz recorded this and Breakdown Dead Ahead he went out and got a custom made wallet that said "BAD MOTHER FUCKER."

  • Boz is an awesome, highly skilled singer/musician. His music legacy will live on and on while others soon disappear into the the past.

  • excellent interpretation I never tire of hearing it again and again

  • WHO doesn't love Boz?

Oh ya, the metal and rap(crap) crowd.

You cant tell, but I'm doing the robot now!

    hehehe

  • lol cute!

  • Old Skool Lives!

  • Rap is not crap and oh by the way it's hip hop!

    -Stoicone!

  • Rap and Hop Hip is crap. Go to the rap/hip hop crowd and hang with them. erniekeebler can say as he wishes whether you like it or not.

  • I can also say as I wish.

    Rap is crap period.

Doesn't matter how angry you get.

The rappers can't sing: most of them can't read music.

You will not change my opinion. Now....

go stomp off frustrated and hang with them.....

  • Wow, no look who got their panties in an bunch, all over some Hip hop!?

    -Stoicone!

  • @MrLarryonthelake Rap? Hmmmm, Maybe I should listen to this again, because I DIDN'T hear ONE bit of RAP........ Hmmmmmmmmm

  • @MrLarryonthelake only the rap you have heard om radio

  • @MrLarryonthelake ignorance isn't something any of your favorite artists would endorse, think before you discredit thousands of people who are working in a slightly different medium. I'm sure since you don't like rap you don't take the time to find any that is worth listening to, the radio is not a credible source

  • @drhanson7667

I don't like rap. Rap isn't music. There's nothing you can say to change my mind. It's an opinion and you have opinions and I can assure you that I don't waste time trying to persuade you otherwise. You said to think ................................................Ok...I still don't like rap.

You like rap. Good for you! You can't dictate other's opinions....this is America....we are free to express our opinions. You can't determine my musical preferences.......Got IT?

  • @MrLarryonthelake Whether rap is music or not is not opinion, it is fact. You can not like rap and not try to discredit it by making claims that it isn't music, this is not a subjective opinion based claim, it is a claim on the objective nature of rap. And this isn't America, it is the internet, got it?

  • @drhanson7667

Again, in my opinion, I don't like rap. If you like rap...bully for you! Great....you have the right to like it and I to loath.

I like to hear singing of the melody, you would rather hear it recited.

You have entirely missed my point.....now....got it?

Also, In America, the internet is even more free than the country itself......so then, I am even more free to state my opinion. You can dictate yours....fine....but you cannot dictate my opinion...

You are very slow. Rap is crap.

  • @drhanson7667

Oh, one more thing....I have my friends at work...and they play their rap music and I have been listening to it for over 30 years and I still don't like it; they know it and they are fine with it.

So why do you have such a problem with my personal preferences? I bet you can't answer that; but if you do, you will again....miss the point.

  • @MrLarryonthelake

You have missed the point: I only have a problem with people saying rap is not music, and that is the only thing I ever argued with you about, not your opinions or personal preferences (though I did speculate upon your musical exposure).

Why are you unable to respond to what I actually said and not to what you are projecting onto my posts?

Troll or stupid? Based on your comment on freedom, I will assume the latter.

  • @drhanson7667

Exactly, you do have a problem.

I made a statement based on hearing it from it's origins in the late 60's. My sons dig rap knowing I don't ... even when I state it's not music...rap has certain elements of music but it's mostly written without a score and it lacks the melody. It has rhythm and complex rhythms and a chord chop once in a while but that's all. I have a friend named Eric who hit it big and he doesn't wet the bed over my opinion that rap...isn't music. Bed-wetter.

  • @MrLarryonthelake

Oh, and you are a musician too? Are you? Are you an expert? Do you play guitar or bass....piano?

  • @MrLarryonthelake generalizing anything is ignorant. saying all rap sux, or that all rock sounds the same, is like saying all black people are thugs, or all muslims are terrorists. im not trying to argue, becuz surely i wont change ur point of view. but ur wrong. u dont have to say it. its just the truth.

  • @MrLarryonthelake That's YOUR preference. If you hate hip-hop, that's your business. BFD! I can't believe these people are beefing with you. lmao. We like what we like. There's plenty of genres out there that I despise. Country music sucks deep! Death metal? WTF? Folk "music"...lol. Anywae, hip-Hop is a multi-billion dollar per year enterprise. In fact, 51% of rap music purchases are made by white people. Not tryna draw race into this, but I'm just sayin'...

  • @MrLarryonthelake A stupid opinion. And I GUARANTEE Boz would pointedly disagree...

  • @MrLarryonthelake Agreed. This is real music not noise with a beat. and btw I am african american so it's not

a racial thing, it's a having a taste for good music thing!

  • @MrLarryonthelake I totally agree. Funny thing i saw this afternoon. I was out driving today and this white guy was driving a late 90's white Ford Explorer. He had all of his windows rolled down and his sound system pumped up. Guess what he had on - "Lil' Wayne"LOL. Here's the real kicker. He looked like he was in his mid 40's. LOL. If that idiot only knew how STUPID he looked, he would have crawled under a rock. LMAO

  • @TheLizardKing1967

How funny ! Ironically, I saw the same guy ! His car is just like mine only my windows don't roll down!!! (dangit). Anyways, he looked like he was lip-syncing.....the rock you are referring to is probably Crocodile Rock. Yeah, those ol' men look pretty stupid singing away........You should have stopped him and told him so! Why didn't you?

Oh yeah, eventually he would have met you under the rock you were talking about...right Lizard King? :,)

  • @MrLarryonthelake Sounds like you asswipe. How would you like me to stick your ass under a rock. LMAO

  • @TheLizardKing1967

    Mike...er, uh, I mean...lizard king.....that would be fun.....But two's a crowd !!

  • @MrLarryonthelake Trolls belong under rocks just like you.

  • Crap by any other name still smells like shit.

  • Yeah "rap music of today" is!

    -Stoicone!

  • @StoicTwo yes rap is crap!!

  • @erniekeebler It's the folks who don't appreciate good music who don't like the man.

  • Great video.. thank you for posting! And also thanks very much for adding a link to my Dalbello fan page!! =)

  • Love it! He used to come to our place when I was a little girl.

Dad was a big rec exec.

  • Great song and video! Thank you.

  • so great1

  • Stunning job with the photo transitions to the music. Many thanks...

  • toto version is good with david paich singing.boz has that cool soulful tone, plus toto on backing track you cant lose! lisa dalbello sounds foxy as fuck!!

  • brilliant

  • This song makes me think of Bozzz's Mercuial (gemini born June8th)character. As Mercury is WARMED by the SUN retanining it's warmth, then that old MOON girl comes along to try to block him off, jealous of the beautiful SUNgirl. I'm talkin' a Cancer female tryin' to block a LEO!!!! IMPOSSIBLE, Gemini's SHINE happily with LEO"S,. Her warmth giving much in a Gemini's life & visa vera.

  • Boz rulz!

  • Boz brings back many good memories- love his stuff....!

  • While 1976 and '77 were good years for him, I still have to say 1980 (and early '81) were banner years for him.

  • Tasty drums courtesy of Jeff Porcaro

  • @queeneileen73 i agree eileen jeff a major player on boz' biggest hits lido shuffle and lowdown before toto signed their record deal in 77,these guys gained their mastery of the studio working for the great and good, streisand, jackson browne, steely dan and leo sayer to name a few.talented don't describe how awesome these guys were!!

  • Just a great, Happy, upbeat song!!! Tks, Mempho!

  • Wow, great song. I hate that all radio plays from Boz is "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle" when he had many hit songs. I remember this song and "Jo Jo" got heavy play on Black radio in 1980.

  • wow I am so glad you said this. I love Boz and Black radio knew/knows true talent. I have been a fan since I was 12...now I am 43

  • Great photo essay and tribute to the Boz

Thanks for posting this lovely tune.

  • Jeff Porcaro's groove IS the song!

  • I came across this song by accident one of my bad days and it just lifted my spirits don't know what it is.........always makes me feel better when I hear it...bonus seen him in concert back in 2003 still sounds great

  • great song great boz

  • Great video...well thought out ...excellent job

  • I love the graphics in this video - very creative and perfect for a Boz song!

  • Great visuals for a great tune.

  • Great Song!!! can hear over and over again.thank you for posting it.

  • "Been thinkin' 'bout you all night, guess you got me in your spell"........"It won't be long before the morning has you back in my arms"....'one kiss did this to me'...

Boz, you've got such a way with words. I love this, and how real these words are.

    I completely relate........

  • Lyrics were by David Paich, not Boz. In fact, Lisa Dalbello, the female singing with Boz, originally did a demo with Toto in 1977, before this version was ever released.

  • Next to Lido Shuffle, this was one of THE best songs that Boz ever wrote and sang!

Mikey (Already added to my faves)

  • Wow This Is an all time classic song and a great video

  • Amazing song and beautifly crafted video

  • Ah, yes....Boz Skaggs; another white man with real soul!! Thanks for the post, SmoothJazz. You are giving me a run for my money!! LOL

  • As a 20 yr old, i always thought 80s music was kinda relaxing after a long hard day

  • I love this timeless hit single!

  • There are plenty of "white guys" with soul. You should go to Dan Penn's website & look for his music. And, PLEASE don't tell me you don't know who he is. If you've ever heard Aretha Franklin, the Box Tops, James Carr, Clarence Carter & a heap of other soulsters, then you've got to know Dan Penn. He's a CLASSIC R&B songwriter who is really an unsung hero of music & champion of that great era from Muscle Shoals & Memphis. You have to do some searches in Rolling Stone & American Songwriter.

  • Also, visit the "Soulful Music" blogspot which has much more info on a whole lot of white guys with real soul. Believe me - it's not a new or isolated phenomenon! When you read on that site, you'll understand.

  • @TLDavis1230 hey, don't we all have a SOUL? and I might say, some of us express it in other ways, Boz, may be white upfront, who knows, maybe there's a tad of black soul generations ago....even Koreans have soul, they named a city after it "Souel" in Korea, hey ,,, just havin' fun with ya. I got some time on my hands, hahahah

  • @TheEndtymsnatzal It's all good, baby...it is ALL good!!

  • Thanks for the Correction,SmoothJazz! Your the BEST!

  • This is actually from his 1980 LP Middle Man,Randy! The OTHER Top 20 Hit was JoJo

  • This is from their 1980 'Hits' compilation :-) Middle Man does not have this song ;-)

  • Yes... It is from Hits!

  • Great song and video, Mempho! This is only the 2nd song I've heard by Mr. Scaggs (the first is obviously "Lowdown"). I might have to delve deeper into his discography.
