  • I like both versions. But then, I am a romantic! Plus I like to watch this one when a need a laugh. Their accents are so bad in this version.

  • nothing could beat Kevin Sullivans version of this... js :)

  • Sorry, but Megan Follows wins hands down. Her Anne was played with the "spunk" that L.M. Montgomery's character Anne had in the books. This BBC version does not even come close. As for the accents, well it is supposed to be Canada after all. L.M. Montgomer's stories were set in Prince Edward Island - named after Prince Edward - the 4th son of King George lll and father of Queen Victoria.

  • Kevin Sullivan wins hands down. This was probably great for its time, but watching it in 2011, it seems more like watching a play on tv. Meghan F. knocked it out of the park, as well as Jonathan Crombie, he was my first movie crush lol! Ahhh 6th grade English Class!

  • Would love to have seen her dishing out the whaling.

  • Yet another Anne film? Oh, but nothing beats the Kevin Sullivan version! The one with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie in it is a classic.

  • You couldn't be more correct.

  • Isn't the woman playing Marilla the same woman who plays the judgmental busybody on the Avonlea series? Mrs. Bugle or something?

  • Yes, she played Eulalie Bugle---so strange to see her as Marilla here!

  • this is bad acting....Anne is why over- ya lol

  • Does anyone know where i can find the whole version and the 1960s/70s version of anne of green gables

  • Hahah, their accents are a bit funny, but I'd like to watch this version all the way through...she's more like what I always pictured anne to be.

  • the canadian anne movies are better then the bbc verisons

  • omg he was so little :o

  • while nicholas was goin 'wam wam wam!' i would have loved delboy to jus appear from the window 'you plllllonkerr rodney!'

  • wow look at little Rodney Trotter! Even then he was a plonker!

  • So True :D

  • Up to 62 Only Fools & Horses hav been uploaded on Youtube so far... and they r all in my playlist, 4 anyone who wants 2 watch um.

  • Love this version. Kim Braden was brilliant in it. Megan F. was good, but not as good in my opinion. This version is more heartwarming. Thanks for posting it. Would love the powers that be to re-run the whole series. Happy memories aaaaahhhhh.

  • I would be really curious to see the first Anne of Green Gables. Too bad it's not available.

  • search under anne of green gables 1934- the whole movie can be found here on youtube

  • I LOOOVE when English people have crappy American accents. Makes me feel better about my crappy English one. . .

  • Well they must have been *really* crappy since they were shooting for Canadian accents.;-)

  • This is T R A S H. Abosolutly NOTHING compared to the Sullivan Version.

  • i would have to agree...

  • what an awful production! bad american accents!just bad everything!

  • MEGAN IS FAR BETTER THAN HER!

  • What a plonker!!

  • Oh wow! Rodney!! So sweet! A version with Davy! Can you really get in on dvd in the UK?

  • what the heck kind of version of the books is this?>???? Megan Follows IS ANNE. Im ashamed this exists at all.

  • I didn't know they had southern accents in Canada

  • Hahaha, they really needed a dialect coach on set, although "Marilla" was the worst by far.

  • The actress who played Marilla, Barbara Hamilton, was Canadian!!

  • OH. My GAWD.

  • Yikes! This Anne is very unattractive,Megan Follows dida better job .

  • No way! Kim Braden looks much more like the description of Anne in the books. Megan Follows is too plump for the role (not that she's fat or anything but in the books Anne was meant to be very skinny).

  • I have this on DVD. I love it! My favourite Anne movie by far. So much better than the Sullivan version.

  • I agree! I saw this when it was first shown on TV and it has stayed in my memory ever since. I was quite disappointed with the Canadian production, all that horrible soft focus filming.

  • It feels so much more like the books! Braden's Anne is "high and mighty" but without being obnoxious or pretentious. Sullivan's original Anne of Green Gables is good, but his sequels are awful.

  • So nice to see this again after all these years. Kim Braden will always be Anne to me, I think she is much more like the Anne in the books than the actress in the Canadian series. I didn't realise Davy was played by Nicholas Lyndhurst though!!

  • If that was supposed to be Marilla, I'm disappointed. But I guess we're all spoiled after having Colleen Dewhurst in the Sullivan version.

  • absolutely. Colleen Deehurst made me wish she was MY Marilla...

  • Is that supposed to be Marilla? LOL I much prefer the Sullivan one. This Anne is all right though.

  • yes sullivan version is much better haha! but it's interesting to see these clips, me being a big anne fan. where did you get this?

  • wow nicolas lyndhurst !!!! rodney you plonka

  • Oh, I have to disagree! Kim Braden makes a much better Anne - slender, starry-eyed and with delicate features. It's not such an expensive production, by I think it has more charm.

  • Thanks so much for posting these two clips! I've been wanting to see these versions of the movie for a long time, and it's nice to see these clips :) (though I must agree with other posters - Sullivan's version is best!)

  • Yeah it is weird... I much prefer the Sullivan version from what I've seen of this one.

  • Thanks, it was weird watching it, so not like the movie LOL
