@firepod21 thanks! what part reminds you of simon? i haven't really heard much of his playing. the headphones are just for ear protection for now. later on we'll be playing to a full sequence so a click will be added in then.
Human metronome with pocket, feel and groove and tasty fills and speed and.....just impressive. This definitely deserves at like. That sick, sick groove at 2:36 and on earned you a favorite. Is that a linear pattern? I would love to learn that.
@NYTROOPA thanks so much! the last groove is just a slow half time type back beat groove and adding in some linear type ideas over the top. i tried to get a bunch of different sounds out of the hi hat and use the toms as kind of a bass drum conceptually. all the patterns are actually very simple so for sure you'd be able to learn them
@joeyhoeyca haha and not the usual "hey, he's got red hair, why's he making those weird facial expressions when he plays?" ......well no one says that, but thats what i imagine people would say if they did say things.
now that´s really THE shit. okay, I stop talking in stupid slang now, sounds kind of messed up if a German does it. but what I´m trying to say: It´s probably one of your best drum videos! I want more of this style!
@ReThord haha thanks dude, yeah i will in the future. good ones aren't cheap but its definitely something i'll invest in next year hopefully. i think eventually this band will be playing with a whole pro tools click track sequence set up, so the in ears will be all part of that.
@indieHindleyMusic haha thanks man, yeah different settings i guess inspire different ideas. heavier music and more space allow these kind of grooves, but with the piano stuff i really try to make sure i support the melody and play ideas that feel good. overall its good i think to share variety in the videos i post, its awesome you've enjoyed that :)
@indieHindleyMusic thanks man! glad you are getting ideas out of my ideas. but there is no competition, whats important is you're your own musican. pursue what you care about, have passion for it and you'll create great things. im not better than you or anyone, perhaps i've just played longer so i've had more years to absorb information.
Wich band is this :D?
