the problem with shanghai is that something is off about it. the skyscrapers are not quite on-par with those of hong kong, and therefore the skyline is not as impressive in comparison to hk. but at the same time, it lacks the culture and history of the northern capital aka beijing. the arrangement of the buildings is too spread out, and the tower looks weird. not as clean/touristy as hk, not as interesting as beijing. looks like a failed hybrid between beijing and hk :(
