But you have to look at it this way, he's made a movie at a budget within $280-$310 million and ended up with 2.7 billion worldwide with something that many consider revolutionary. A movie that's both a critical and commercial success. He's won an Academy Award before, I doubt it'll actually hurt him in any way to not win this time. Besides, in my opinion he didn't deserve it anyways...

Cameron work as a writer is actually VERY weak.....but as a director he is a genius. The thing is Quentin is a genius from both aspects. Cameron only has much to offer for the future of visual effects and the development of cinematography....not so much with storytelling though.....

It's just that once you start having people liking your work and basically idolizing you, trying to be humble is not optionale. I'm sure when Quentin Tarantino first started out, he didn't think he'll be where he is right now. Everyone needs a little boost in the ego to help make them a bit more happy. Just be sure to control it.
