I don't think you were alone there. Many thought the same about Rudd. Unfortunately the only passion PG seems to have is for the eventual parliamentary pension. Isn't that why small 'l' liberals join the Labor Party in the end? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em - with the added bonus of a (very generous) pension for life.
I have come to realise that the crazy dancing PG did as Midnight Oil frontman was a neoconservative climate change skeptic and environmental vandal trying to break free. i notice he isn't dancing anymore.
You're such a joy! But do you think PG is really in crisis over his own transformation? I thought the corruption had settled in well before he became a laborite. He does seem to have difficulty pronouncing the words he's told to say though, I'll give him that.

yes, I think you're right - but there was a part of me that was hoping that once he got his portfolio he'd bust out the power and the passion.
