The compound that makes goretex waterproof is actually applied to the inside of the material. Most people think that the EPTFE is what makes water bead up and roll off; but it's not. It's a completely separate chemical compound(DWR). Check out the care instructions on the website.
I got one of those jackets 2 years ago. It was a second-hand jacket, so I got it almost for free (and it's still in perfect condition!). Very recommendable jacket! 5/5
My dad gets gortex from work,I use it on the skid plate on my dirtbike to keep it from rubbing the paint off and under the carbon fiber exhaust guard to keep it from scratching the nickle plating.We had a 1/4x24"x12" sheet and two 6"long x1"x1" spheres,cool stuff you can find a 1,001 uses!
