  • "So simple even dads can use it"

Yeah dads are a pretty stupid lot aren't they.

  • Channel 7 Part 1 1977 has been removed due to violation. Can the content of this be viewed elsewhere?

  • I see this and it brings home the fact that we have changed so much since 1979. The Care for Kids ad will always bring back fond memories for me. It's ironic that I've come here, to the future, to look for my past. Without YouTube, I might not have even convinced myself that such times existed. But they did and I feel lucky to have been a part of the last last generation that allowed kids to be just that.....kids. Those times are long gone, but I find solace in the memories I've held on to.

  • Gee, this brought back memories. My son used to come from wherever he was (born in 1979) crawling as fast as he could and sit in front of the tv and rock back and forth to the Care for kids ad. Great stuff! I still love that jingle and so does he apparently - as he sent it to me today!

  • i'm making myself bootiful vis camay....

    awesome stuff!!

    thanks.

  • Great stuff. That Ribena bottle takes me back - I'd forgotten what those bottles used to look like :-)

  • I got " Care for Kids" on 45 RPM

  • 8 minutes of pure gold. The closest thing to time travel there is! "You aughta be congratulated" FrozenDoberman :-)

  • Great stuff mate, where'd ya find this gem?

  • Thanks. The U-matic tapes are all ex-Catholic college. Someone was obviously teaching advertising media in the late 1970s.

  • To think the babies in these ads would be 30 years old now

  • Very amusing :)

My mum has that Womens Weekly cookbook.

  • ive been looking for that care for kids add for years!!

    great post

  • finally, someone with the clip of it yaay.

the singing sounds a bit differant to the single that was released.. but good to see that video again though.

  • Was that a flash of 'Val Doonican' at 7:30? So many good lines from the 'CAMAY' commercial - "I'm making myself bootiful!", "CAMAY does wonderful things for me!" and the classic (used many times by Daryl Somers no Hey Hey, "It's not my birfday?" A great collection there...

  • Yes - likely from the Mike Walsh Show. The viewer was switching between Sydney TV channels back in winter 1979!

  • Camay is my booty product...

  • Marvellous acting at the end in the last comercial for Ten Eyewitness News.
