of course he was a genius, one of the crazy ones (Maradonna,Cantona,Gaza...) but didn't make the wright decissions, a career of 11 years could have been longer.And there are some international cups missing in his history to be one of the greatest ever.Ok, he couldn't play a WC because he was from Ulster, but with ManU as well, there is missing maybe one or to more cups, which Cruyff,Beckenbauer and Zidane have.
With regard to football I don't think that you need cups to prove your greatness..

I've been watching football before you were born as well as being a child prodigy at that. In addition, you've never seen Pele, Best or Maradona play in real time. I think that George Best had a bit more than just potential.Best started his Man United career at a very young age and was their from 1963-74.Not many players can say that. Also be it right or wrong he did leave United on his own accord. Cruyff , Beckenbauer and Zidane were great players but neither possessed the genius factor. George however was a genius and the original special one.

of course he was a genius, one of the crazy ones (Maradonna,Cantona,Gaza...) but didn't make the wright decissions, a career of 11 years could have been longer.And there are some international cups missing in his history to be one of the greatest ever.Ok, he couldn't play a WC because he was from Ulster, but with ManU as well, there is missing maybe one or to more cups, which Cruyff,Beckenbauer and Zidane have.

I don't think that there would have been any more International honours for Best or United at that time because a significant portion of the great players in that particular squad were ready for retirement.The new players brought in to replace thee old ones did not have the same level of quality.United were on the demise at that time.
