That's funny to read because I'm a metalhead as well. Anything from WASP to Cannibal. Yet to this day, Chris has always been one of my all time favorite musicians. My friends still think it's weird when I crank him up, and I'm fixin to do a cover of Stampede, so long as I can do it justice.
When I was 15 years old my mom called me downstairs and said to hurry. I went down to hear this song called "Caballo Diablo" on the radio, and my whole life changed. I started buying every Chris LeDoux LP record I could find and pulled out an old guitar and learned to play. I didn't have a southern accent, but whenever I would sing i did, because of Chris. This set of concert videos is the most welcome thing I've ever seen on YouTube. Thank you so much for putting them up.
So sad to watch this as it's a a reminder that the writings on the wall. Real country-western music is gone and Chris Ledoux was the last one. No long hair b.s. or black plastic "cowboy" hats. A tough as nails man, who was a gentleman even more. True cowboy. R.I.P. Chris and don't worry we'll have your music going in montana for years to come :)
R.I.P the guy was the best preformer at my county fair rosanne cash stopped her show because of the rain the next day Chris comes out and it was pouring and he goes if you guys are here in the rain then i going to give you a show he played for 3 hours he was a true cowboy not the cookie cut country singer
LOL that statement from a previous poster sums up what chris is. He is real and others can respect where he is coming from. A local boy from wyoming but none the less he is country-western music. Even if u dont' dress it, alot of us are country and chris knew it.
@texasusa05 Chris sang about real cowboys, country, western music that wasn't bought out by corporate douche-bags only in it for the money. I think of LeDoux like John Denver, both sang and wrote about what was real. Today, all these good looking young artists don't know a damn thing about country and it shows in there idiotic lyrics. They should just say they're pop music. I listen to a variety of music, from Halen to Ottmar Liebert-and one things for sure, there's real artists and crap.
@texasusa05 Very well put. With the exception of George Strait I stopped listening to country music. As a matter of fact when they started calling it 'country' instead of country/western or just western is when it went bad
It's a crying shame that Chris ain't around no more ,but Thank God that Western Underground is keeping Chris's music alive.

He also used the rain in his show, he would use the wet stage as a slip 'n slide and was soaked at the end of the concert.

Cowboy music died with Chris. Now all we have is rascall flatts and big and rich, which arent worth the electricity it takes to operate a radio.
