A lot of people don't realise, but when you're forging...it's essential to have ear and eye protection. All that ping panging can screw your hearing up. Looking into the fire can also damage your eyes, so using industrial shades is really a good idea.
@Cstrife234 I have used both, but prefer coal as it lasts a lot longer. I live in timber country and could make up a big batch of charcoal, but it wouldn't be terribly convenient to make and transport the quantities needed.
@CidSilverWing Blacksmithing sure is, in my opinion, one of the most fantastic professions of all. I am actually training to be a blacksmith now in Sweden. Such a great way to make work of your imagination. Epic win indeed!

i didnt make the forge its about 30 years old, with a few patches and and a new base,the electric fan is new though.
