Actually this has been around for over 10 years was originally supposed to be part of a moduler weapons system for the Future warrior program that was developing a Smart bodyarmor with built in data link & changable camoflage. the XM-25 was to be a grenade launcher that was mounted under the modular assault rifle that could be detached & used as a stand alone weapon. when the rifle was canceled they just repackaged the XM 25 as a stand alone weapon.
