this song started taking off with the "you're a jerk" song by new boyz which you know i am sure, so the dance is therefore named using one of the words in the song. and a word can have two meanings. for example, sick. i don't think of the "other connotation" every time i hear this word.
it's just a dance and you need to calm down. don't even go judging us by saying we can't dance and love jesus. christians can have fun too...i don't know what you believe personally but...
and i'm one of the girls in this movie..just so you know i'm not just some random girl.
When the dance phrase "Jerkin It" was coined it was made specifically for that reference. It's called a play on words. Like in an Austin Powers movie when a woman has a name like "Ivana Humpalot". She's Russian therefore it could just be a Russian name. But that's obviously NOT what is supposed to be taken from that.
Jerk it all you like. Don't put Jesus in the same bowl.
Oh, and I'm not "judging" you for dancing. Two things I would be doing here.
1: Shaking my head at once again a truly awful song lyrically, musically, etc. being made into something that can be considered "good".
2: Making a point that there are certain things that shouldn't mix together. Jesus and Jerking It would fall into a non-mix category. You can call me judgmental, but I'm not condemning or judging you. Just asking you to watch how you represent Christ.
