I've benn going through this with my dog. My vet got me to you tube "reverse sneezing" when we were diagnosing him. If you ask me, I'm 99% SURE that is what your dog has. As my vet said, it can sound a lot like a cough and sounds a little different in all breeds and even individual dogs. I think the most expensive part will be the fee they always charge when you see a vet. I don't think it'd be too pricey. ;) ...good luck!
@mindysue19 she got antibiotics from the vet and once out of the dirty house I was visiting she had a complete recovery. It has been over a year and she is doing great, no sneezing at all!
@biblebrat78 turns out that she picked this up from staying at a friends house that was in disgusting condition, the carpets were nearly black with uncleanliness and the previous dog that lived there had died there. now that i am not in that house and keep her in clean sanitary environment this condition has gone away completely.

I would be concerned with congestive heart failure. Talk to a vet. This is abnormal!!!
