Wow would you believe i never beat this game until like 10 years after it came out because I didn't know you had to put the Gem in your Mouth? seriously
These graphics are very colorful and detailed considering the tech standard of the era. Vohaul's Revenge was my fave of this series. For some reason, while watching this video, I hear Faxanadu music in my head. XD
Heh. Clones of do0r-to-do0r life insurance salesmans. Vohaul was a nutbar.
This is one of the tougher SpaceQuest games, mainly why SQ3 was a lot easier to play I use DOSBox to play this game mainly to use a USB gamepad (I prefer the NES controller)to get past the plant since you can move diagonally. Also I like using the new version of ScummVM since I can play EGA games like this with better music and sound unlike the PC speaker sounds, sadly no gamepad support.
man... i got stuck at that friggen plant maze thing for about 3 months and then didnt have a clue i had to pic berries and smear then on myself to get through the swamp till about 1990 and i scored the game in 1986 or 87... lol, idiot kid
This is a great playthrough you did. Thank you very much for all the work you put in for recording and playing it! The landing platform starting at 6:23 is very reminiscent of Return of the Jedi.
I agree completely. The one where he gets eaten by the jellyfish monster on land it says something like "if there is any consolation you didn't digest well and the monster got gas problems from you making it unpopular among its friends"...
I remember watching my friend play this on his monotone CGA when I was 10 years old.
It was ridiculously hard, with so many ways to die. I recall if you climbed a tree, you'd get stuck to it and eaten by insects or the second hovercraft would come along and blast you...
i've never had the chance to play this one. i played all the others including both SQ1's here is my chance to FINALLY see why vouhal is so pissed. haha
One great thing about the Space Quest series is that they had several tributes to other science fiction in it. Sludge Vohaul needs a life support system to survive and an breathing apparatus, so did Darth Vader. The thugs look like apes from planet of the apes. There's a monster like the one in alien.
@Metatheist google ''infamous adventures'' :) they have been at it for years and its about to be finished

@MPSecare What happens?
SokudoJutsu 1 year ago
@SokudoJutsu it says soemthing like "the confines of a space suit makes you unable to drop trou" or something
MPSecare 1 year ago
@MPSecare Why, what did "moon workers" hand back to you?
AlphaOmegaAWH 1 year ago
@AlphaOmegaAWH hahaha "mooning" someone is the term for dropping your pants and showing them your ass
MPSecare 1 year ago
@MPSecare Ohhh, THAT moon...I thought maybe "moon workers" was just another obscure space insult (they had loads of those in that series). My bad...

4:42 a sagging mass of human flesh that was human. Suddenly, his visage stirs and he begins to speak. I can imagine how that looks like lmao!

I really like this game now that I've figured out much of the storyline.
I also like how it says "Two Guys". I guess this is a bigger part comedy after all.
Too bad the "Stand by for decontamination" sound seems a little distorted. I liked the "vibration" in it.

Now that I think about it, there are some aspects of this game (mostly the environs and graphics) that remind me of Flashback.

I always died in the part that has that green plant monster thing it kept eating me
coondogtheman1234 3 years ago
I like the several long and sarcastic death messages this game has - since the hero is bound to die several times, why not make it rewarding! :)

this game has one of the best quotes ever.
"I intend to infest you planets with thousands of these Genetically engineered door-to-door life insurance salesmen" - Great plot !

If "they" did it right, this could be a movie. hands down =]

Hmmm...good. But how would genetically enhanced door-to-door life insurance salesman allow someone like Vohaul to get an advantage?

Dude, I hated that plant monster. I would put it on slow and then double-tap keys to move and stop real quick.

Insane. How'd you get by the plant monster so easily? I always crept along on "slow," and even then I got killed several times!

the first one was pretty much Star Wars: A New Hope. This one has essences of Return Of The Jedi in it
