  • use DFU mode

  • @MrSebyM

DFU mode didnt work. The guy at apple couldnt get it to work. I was the first replacement Iphone 4 replacement given in AZ. Joy!

  • I had exactly the same problem as the video. My iphone 4 would not update to version 4.0.1 and then would not restore back to previous working version. I eventually sorted my problem by switching off my PC firewall. The iphone then updated fine!! Give it a try.....switch off your PC firewall :-)

  • turn airplane mode on/off

  • CHECK THIS OUT C: \WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts-open with Notepad (USE ADMIN OPEN!!!)

    simply add in bottom

    gs.apple.com

    and save it !!!

    done go RESTORE good lock

  • Sometimes it's the cable. I can tell u are using something different from what apple provided.

  • Fix for Iphone error 1611 If your iPhone just boots to "Please connect to iTunes" all the time What you need to do depends on your operating system. Windows: - Download iBrickr and extract it somewhere. - Open a command line and cd to the folder you extracted iBrickr to. - Run iphoneinterface from the command line. - You should see an r_recovery prompt. - Type "setenv auto-boot true" and hit enter. - Type "saveenv" and hit enter. - Type "fsboot" and hit enter. - Your phone will boot properly.
  • dude download IPSW and restore it will work 100%

  • No problems with mine, signal is great, wifi works perfect and the sync was quick and seamless.

  • on my 3g that happened and i called 1-800-my apple and they said it was the cord

  • I stopped by the apple store today, they gave me a new phone that seems to be working perfectly.

  • You should have NEVER used the restore function. I knew the moment I saw that option pop up that it would be nothing but trouble. I was right. I chose to do a clean start with iTunes and my iPhone 4 works perfectly.

  • FIXED! Here's the solution: I went to the apple store after reading something online about the restoring process hanging up when using Windows computers. So, since they have MACS there, everything went smoothly. The guy says that you need to have Windows XP service pack 3 or the latest VISTA to operate the new iTunes. Hope that helps.

  • i have the SAME DAM PROBLEM ERROR 1604 WAT DA F##* iwas on the phone for over 2hrs with apple tryn to fix it and no luck.... they said they TRYN to send me another WTF i bout ready to say f apple work good for bout 30min then POS from there

  • I think i've an idea of what's going on... The computer simply is reading your iphone 4. If you are running the itunes software off a windows machine, then there may be your problem. I'd say try installing it on an apple computer.

  • GRRRRRRR!!!! I waited all damn week for this to break it in less than 30 mins of use... WTF!

  • Yeah, I tried to restore my "phone" as well and the screen just goes blank... in the mean time, the "preparing iphone for restore" is in the background just running... This sucks so much right now... =/

  • so many problems haha, epidemic

  • Haha owned

  • This is exactly why I dont rush out to buy something when it first hits the market. Im waitin for the second round

  • I have an appointment with a local store to see about getting a replacement.

  • Tried another computer, same issue.

  • got mine this morning, two hours later and it still says NO SERVICE. ATT guy said it might take a while since a lot of people are activation the new phones. I know your prob is different, but try another computer as suggested earlier. GL
