  • wow..brilliant connection and research about life and water! amazing creatures!

  • fascinating video!!!

  • That's really cool video

  • HAHAHA, So cold that it shatters! when we take it out.. *SMASH*

  • @jorgipogi - I think you misunderstand the kind of research that's going on here. First of all, rotifers are microscopic animals, not bacteria or viruses. Secondly, this is not genetic engineering or manipulation in any way; Dr. Tunnacliffe and his group are merely studying the creatures as they are found in nature to gain insight into their survival mechanisms. These are not "crazy" experiments, and there is no threat to human safety.

  • No wonder there are so many viruses and bacteria. These scientists working and doing all kinds of crazy experiments with no regard for human safety or oversight.

  • That's fascinating

  • Rotifers kick Cockroach butt.

  • this guys a genius

  • excellent video

  • NEW!: Instant Water! Just add... Oh wait.

  • whats the song in the beginning of this vid? anybody know?

  • Rotifers Rock.... lol :)

  • Water makes up 60% of our bodies? Just add water to anything and watch what happens. What is interesting to you about water? If nothing explain why.too.What do you think life would be like if there was no water anywhere? Explain, yourself and what you would do.

  • i love this

  • Could this protein be used to protect other kind of dna molecules, I mean other living beings?

  • I for one, welcome our new germ overlords.

  • hey Im gonna buy a microscopy :D

  • Take the red pill

  • This is really amazing. How fortunate to have the chance to see this.

  • The more we learn the more we realize we don't know anything. Amazing experiment!

  • aha

  • too awesome.. knowledge is a beautiful thing..Rotifers* the new shiggle..

  • interesting material.... great footage!

  • water bear?

  • we must stop playing games (monopoly) and start doing real work like building a machine that can build more machines to make are lives easier than focus on creating clean energy devices and build another robot to build these machine these tool that we need really what do we really need politics or technology...think about...EX: pencil cars planes ect..wake up my people my brothers and sisters we are one.

  • Science truly is amazing when religion doesn't restrict it...

  • Amazing

  • Alan, Alan, you are not wearing safety specs...tut tut...LOL

  • ggg

  • you should try and put them on mars and see if they survive

  • What an amazing discovery. Brilliant research.

  • Cool!

    Looked at one go!

  • Take the red pill

  • Mankind is the most "Evolved" creature on earth?

    I beg to differ.......

These things survive for years without, Food, water, shelter, or a brain..

Human being loose their money, or a mate, and they want to kill themselves.

    Life is amazing.

  • @commonman80 there is no phrase called that says mankind is the most evolved creature. you are just taking your past experience, knowledge and assumptions just because you have seen this video

  • [o . o]

bakkan, es lo bueno de hablar inglés

  • hello my names jessyrowles, and i was trying to get some new people to check out my channel if you click on my name you can get to it. Also i will make any video you would like if you write the script or send me a message of something you would like . thanks jessyrowles

  • cool.....its really very interesting

  • Water is my favorite drink. Even more than beer and I love Beer.

  • This is very Interesting. This is why we should keep looking for life in mars.

  • Can I add sum bourbon too ?

  • amazing!!!!

  • oh wow cake taste really good

  • awesome

  • Wow...

  • Amazing.

  • What kind of people give this scientific knowledge a thumbs down?

  • very interesting

  • cool

  • what he said between 2:54 and 2:57?

  • @Nikvaylo He said "so, let's see if any of them is going to wake up, and come back to life..."

  • All I know is this guy makes good vacuums.

  • Wow I had never heard of these creatures before. Studying these creatures could render very, very, very useful applications in biotech.

  • seananners

  • Perhaps only we are confused, when it comes to understanding such as the ways of life.

    Great Video!

  • lol youtubes new layout has us saying seven copy comment

  • see if they survive in alcohol.

  • Absolutely fascinating. What else can I say? I'm at a loss of words.

  • Does the organism gaining the materials of another for dna gain any features of that organism? Could that be used to create some kind of ultra fast evolving creature?

Also, anyone else here from seananners' twitter?

  • I wish I can bring a bucket of water into outer space and splash it on Mars...

    ;D

  • @DidntKnowWhatToPut1 Or possibly Saturn's moon Titan. (I'm guessing that you are talking about Jupiter's moon Europa)

  • very interesting ..keep the work up

  • Really strange, tough little buggers

  • we' may actualy be the one who create alien' we should sent those things in the moon or mars leave it their for years ^^? eh agreed?

  • Thats pretty darn impressive :O

  • this is a great video and i am sad that most people don't care and will never know or understand this amazing video.

  • what the hell is with you guys double posting

  • This is fascinating. Also, anyone tha likes this, check out the Airborne trilogy by Kenneth Oppel.

  • wow my mind is blown =O

  • cool

  • panspermia

  • About 15 centuries ago, it was in The Holy Quran. God said in the Holy Quran " [21:30]

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water ? Will they not then believe ?"

And the scince prove it again and again,,Subhan Allah

  • My boss is a bdelloid rotifer, well that may explain her decisions.

  • the Nanners of the Sea sent me.. its awesome!

  • How fascinating and creative these organisms are. Its intriguing!

  • Very interesting!

  • SEANANNERS

  • Amazing!

  • boring

  • like Molder said: "they're out there"

  • How many times do you have to post the same comment to get your message through??

  • when did Sting become a scientist?

  • mmmm...

  • it's because the earth is meant for life. other plantets/moons are not meant for life. the earth is in the perfect spot unique in comparison to other places in the known universe

  • Panspermia is a very young age bird named dodo

  • This is amazing!.. But i am a nerd, so...

  • If it's a possibility they should just bring some samples back from other planets and add water...like from the moon or mars.

  • Interesting video.....

  • Why is water essential for life? How do we know that life can exist without water.. or air.

  • panspermia

  • panspermia

  • can they survive in no atmosphere?

if they havent had sex in 80 million years, arent they basically immortal?

  • One word: ZERG!!!

  • Anyone know the sick dubstep beat going on in the background?

  • Anybody thinking of Maxis' Spore here? :-)

  • I wonder if the T-virus in the Resident Evil storyline could be related to the research of Dr. T. here.. DNA-stitching, resurrection of virtually dead tissue... it's all coming together now. :-D

  • Amazing

  • why do they call them animals and not bacteries or insects

  • وجعلنا من الماء كل شيء حي أفلا يؤمنون

  • Those are some amazing creatures... Hard to believe that they survived that insane change of temperature changes and just came back to life... its a good thing they aren't bigger than we are or we might be in trouble.

  • inb4 peta calls this animal abuse

  • Word. That was tight.

  • very intresting i would love to hear more

  • Amazing. Perhaps he IS onto something when he mentions Astronauts... nice.

  • I don't know if this is scary or if its exciting.

  • That is phenomenal, interesting little creatures rotifers.

  • This is pretty awesome.

  • genetic cut and paste reminds me of zerg...

  • the Americans did not send humans to the moon. It was a scam, just like 9/11

  • Actually, it did let you post. Five times. Silly.

  • That's really incredible. The first thing that comes to mind--and it's totally ridiculous, but hey--is that if you wanted to seed life around the universe, this would be one of the best ways to do it. They can reorganize DNA, recombine what develops on a planet--who knows?

  • WA-ter, WAAAAA-ter. not WOY-ter.

  • in the qur'an it says " we make from the water everything that lives"

  • Neil Patrick Harris is very informative.

  • lol S0chan, Youtube fail :P

  • Me and these creatures have something in common, no sex in 80 million years

  • this is mind blowing, the very idea that we may be surrounded by life and not even know it because we may not know what to look for

  • Interesting - I wonder if recombining DNA from other creatures in some way plays a part in evolution

  • [30:24] Among His proofs is that He shows you the lightning as a source of fear, as well as hope, then He sends down from the sky water to revive a land that has been dead. In these, there are sufficient proofs for people who understand.

  • Ask what kind of sci-fi nightmare could happen if we melt ice on mars.....

  • Ask what kind of sci-fi nightmare could happen if we melt ice on mars.....

  • Why youtube won't make me post the word "panspermia"?

  • @S0chan I dunno, looks like you did a pretty good job posting it to me ;)

  • @S0chan Although I can see it, I 'd assume it's blocking out the word "spe.rm".

  • @S0chan you did, like 8 times

  • @S0chan You posted that comment 5 times..

  • @S0chan Idk for sure but probably because it says s-p-e-r-m on the middle of it.

  • @S0chan Hehehe yea i see..

  • @S0chan it did... just give it a minute ;)

  • @S0chan You've posted it about 300000 times.

  • @S0chan It will and you posted it 5 times.

  • @S0chan why did you post so many times?

  • This actually makes panspermia a little more possible.

    Very interesting.

  • @S0chan

Panspermia IS a possible theory, you shouldn't say "a little more possible." Does not compute.

  • This actually makes panspermia a little more possible.

    Very interesting.

  • This actually makes panspermia a little more possible.

    Very interesting.

  • Whoya... Dry life lives again and makes people think again about life.

  • It would be interesting to see if they can survive on Europa

  • It would be interesting to see if they can survive on Europa
